The challenge for most companies has always been that they are focused on creating the best solution to
a given problem. They forget often, that the problem itself might change. When they’re busy building the

EatSure was born out of a similar REBEL disruption value system. Over the years, while we have
attempted solving for a lot of customer food missions with the portfolio of our brands (& have had few
victories there), there are a lot of unsolved problems when it comes to how food is being
ordered(offline/online) & the entire experience around it (read distribution) and solving them is our key
focus while creating a D2C play. Post COVID, this intent took a much magnificent shape and was born as
Eatsure with a soul of “asSUREance” and a core proposition of ‘ordering from multiple restos in one go’.

The Role:
This role is much bigger, larger and vital than being just a conventional manager with restricted
responsibilities and restricted areas of influence. The role owns the outcomes of the three pillars of the
EatSure business: ensuring our app has the best selection possible, that our customers and our brand
partners see value in the products and services we are bringing to market, and that we are assisting all
cohorts of customer data to maximize the business. This role is a mix of strategy, execution and people
leadership.
You will report directly to the Head – Brand & Category and will work closely with a Category Manager.
You’re excited about this opportunity because
you will…
  • Own the entire Storefront & the Category P&L– You will own the strategic category vision for
EatSure’s entire platform (online/offline).Right from understanding what customers want,
mapping the category/cuisine/restaurant gaps by market on the platform to working closely with
the Launcher team and Brands BU to plug those gaps, this is an end to end category
management role. Plan and implement long-term development strategies for product
categories, design exit strategies for unsuccessful products, strategize positioning, pricing,
branding of products and categories and the entire storefront to maximize its visibility and
deliver the business P&L goals month on month
  • Optimize the App Funnel: This is your north star. Ultimately it all boils down to this- out of the
total customers landing on the platform, how many end up transacting because we have what
they want. You would be expected to be day in and out on top of these numbers & more
importantly keep on improving them
  • Seasonal/Festival Campaigns – Unlike most of the ecommerce platforms, where they need to
create a property from air, whether it is 5/6th Anniversary or Mn/Bn Sales Day to generate sales
via discounts, when it comes to food on demand, one have enough opportunities to celebrate
authentic seasonal festivals with relevant curation of dishes. From Holi to Valentine, Shravan,
Ganpati, Navratri, Diwali to Christmas & the list goes on, there are enough opportunities where
using the Rebel OS ( the power of full stack, which is again missing across other food platforms),
we can launch seasonal festivals & dishes like thandai, modak/puranpoli, saatvik fasting specials ,
plum cake etc, & Exclusively on ES, where in we create enough reasons for people to come to the
platform and relish it, instead of doing it at a cost of discounts. And we are sure you understand
who does all of it?
  • ES Exclusives- Just as the name suggests, this pillar is the silver bullet for EatSure which is pivotal
to creating compelling food on demand content that will only be available for a customer to
order on EatSure and no other platform. With the power of Rebel OS and an in-depth
understanding of unmet consumer needs, Exclusives power will vast from curating exclusive
menu within our own brands, creating new brands from scratch ( with celebrity or fulfilling
specific user needs) and identifying opportunities with Launcher business partners such that we
make great offerings exclusively available on ES platform,across our footprints to the consumers.
  • Make Data Driven Decisions – Research and analyze data and market insights, search for insights
into consumer needs and wants to build models to define customer segments, understand
business performance, and identify new opportunities to drive value.
  • Build Strong Cross Functional Relationships – Work cross-functionally with our various
stakeholders (Growth, Product, Design and Communications, Operations, Data etc.) to ensure
that the vision and plans for EatSure are understood around the business, various teams are
motivated to engage, and that the business is balanced across teams. (Dept./person X failed in
doing something leading to this is the last thing we entertain, after all, you get to wear the tag of
the leader for this role)

  • You’re a Problem solver: You can independently translate high-level goals into actionable plans,
and you are excited to build those plans yourself.
  • You’re analytical: You let data tell the story, and you’re comfortable pulling your own data in SQL
or modeling in Excel.
  • You’re a proven operator: 6+ years of work experience. Specifically across: e-commerce
companies in a category management role. High-growth or early-stage startup experience is a
plus.
  • You’re naturally curious: You always look for ways to innovate and improve
  • You’re gritty: You roll up your sleeves and do whatever it takes to make things successful. You
never say never!
  • You’re a world class communicator: You are able to tell the story of the exclusive offering/new
launches you created to different audiences and through different mediums in the most effective
way
  • You’re a dedicated people leader: People management experience, and a proven track record
as a culture carrier with an advocate for DEI initiatives.

Key Requirements: Unlike any other such job opening, stating that one must be a creative thinker with
strong analytical ability, data-driven thinking, knowledge of digital world blah blah is something we
would refrain from, after all, those are a given, else you wouldn’t be able to make sense out of whatever
we have belabored till now.

One key skill that we expect for this role is that of being a hustler! This is the elixir that every person in
the EatSure team has to have to ensure this philosophy and the app will outlive us. After all, consumers
experience a product, cherish an offering but what makes the difference is the value that it creates / the
emotional selling point as we call it!
