Job Summary
Pune (India) Global Business Center (GBC) Financial Planning & Analysis/Supply Chain Analytics team partners with Avantor leadership teams in driving the Avantor Key Strategic Business Priorities. GBC FP&A/Sourcing Analytics team enables Avantor leadership team in effective decision making by providing timely, accurate and actionable insights globally for all the markets, regions, businesses, and functions.

Sr. Analyst – Sourcing/procurement Analytics, is a member of Avantor GBC Pune family and partner with global leaders both sourcing operations & finance in driving various key strategic sourcing priorities of Avantor. This position also actively partners with multiple stakeholders including sourcing leadership team, external suppliers’ team on a day-to-day basis to meet the ongoing business requirements.

Sr. Analyst- Sourcing/Procurement Analytics, is expected to act as process champion/Subject Matter Expert of sourcing/procurement and enable the Global Procurement team in effective decision making by providing necessary insights by assessing Past & Current performance of the business and provide necessary support in building plans/forecasts. This position is also expected to partner with sourcing leadership team in driving various key projects which improves savings opportunities for the organization. This position is responsible to create new reports as per the dynamic business requirements, drive Simplification, standardization of various existing key reports that provides insights on supplier performance, validation of cost improvement projects.

The Sr. Analyst is accountable to deliver defined Service Line Agreements (SLA) of his/her role and assist Sourcing leadership team in managing the lean culture of the organization and create global impact through change projects that drive automation, standardization, digitization, and analytics. This position Works on highly complex assignments with extensive latitude for independent judgment.

This position requires strong business partnering skills with in-depth sourcing/ business acumen, data management, reporting and analysis expertise, influencing and change management skills.
The position reports to Manager/Team Lead at Global Business Center (GBC) Pune and will have matrix alignment with onshore business partners.
MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List in order of importance)
Business Partnering/Transformation

  • Act as Business Partner
    for Sourcing Operations team, understanding the key priorities of business/function and cater the information needs of the sourcing leadership team for effective decision making.
  • Analyze spend data, Explore & identify potential cost savings opportunities, develop those programs & playing key role in driving those programs by Partnering with Global Procurement leadership team.
  • Identify & highlight the spend/cost leakages, maverick spend, areas of spot buys, broker buys.
  • Provide financial oversight for spend analytics, inflation, rebate analytics and validation of Cost Improvement projects by collaborating with finance/sourcing leadership teams.
  • Partnering with Avantor Global Sourcing leadership team to consolidate and leverage global purchase requirements; Assist selected suppliers to obtain best commercial and business conditions.
  • Prepare bid packages and tender, analyze results, shortlist suppliers, conduct post tender negotiations and finalize contract.
  • Support Sourcing objectives and assist in maximizing gross margin through joint cooperation with Sourcing team to negotiate and implement supply contracts with optimal conditions.
  • Analyze and recommend Sourcing leadership on supplier performance, contract negotiation and proposals and support analytics and reporting on regular basis.
  • Global Project Tracking for Direct Sourcing Teams, coordination with Finance for reporting
  • Support and consult RFP analytics and recommend new Private opportunities to improve private label offering as well as increasing margins.
  • Extended support on IOP and Forecast exercises for the Global Procurement team by partnering with the Sourcing Directors to ensure targets are developed and executed.
  • Drives monthly/quarterly/TY forecast updates and tracking on sourcing bowlers.
  • Supporting annual price collection and negotiation program during pricing season.
  • Analyzing trends & providing proactive recommendations to the operations/finance leadership team by highlighting potential risks & opportunities of the business.
  • Partner with Operations leadership on ad hoc projects/reporting as per the ongoing business requirements.
  • Assessing the existing KPI’s/reports of assigned businesses/functions, identifying the gaps in current process, proposing necessary changes to business partners and playing an active role in implementing the proactive mechanisms in measuring & driving business results.
  • Partner with inventory planners & accounting team and take proactive measures in mitigating the risk of inventory write offs.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly Management Review decks for leadership team by highlighting the outliers, collobarating with operations/finance teams in understanding the drivers behind the variances, providing necessary commentaries on the business performance.
  • Actively involve in performance review discussions with Operations/Finance leadership teams and providing necessary suggestions to the leadership team on the way forward approach.
  • Assisting leadership in driving the key business-specific /global initiatives.
Operational/Functional Excellence

  • Take a lead in establishing Global Standardized
    Reporting on spend & savings, Supplier performance for various businesses/functions.
  • Closely Working with leadership teams in adopting the ABS practices.
  • Collaborate with other team members, identify & implement process simplifications/ improvements. Adopt the best/standard practices
    across teams.
  • Prepare necessary process documentation
    of all the deliverables and periodical review of the existing documentation and making necessary changes to ensure the latest business changes are incorporated.
  • Prepare financial analysis for various “what if” scenarios and sensitivity analysis
    in analyzing the business impact.
Mentoring

  • Coach and mentor new team members
    to make them successful in their respective role by assisting them in new transitions, having knowledge sharing sessions etc.
