As a BI Developer, deploy technical solutions to ensure accurate, consistent data reporting and analytics for Barclays UK. You will play a key role as part of the growth and expansion of the Lending MI team and will engage with internal and external stakeholders.
We are looking for an experienced BI developer to join the engineering team. As a member of the team you will continue to build, extend, innovative our banking solutions and capabilities.
To be successful in this role, you must be code author and craftsman, this engineer will be responsible for code delivery in a timely and accurate fashion, and the overall review and guidance of sprint and epic goals. This developer is expected to produce a high volume of quality code along with his/her team. The team work on specific use cases and contribute to sprint planning, and releases

What will you be doing?

• Work through a spectrum of requirements across different lending functions
• Design & Implement efficient and Insightful dashboards using appropriate visualization tools
• Design and development of solutions using SQL query in Teradata,Hadoop environments including Hive and Impala and Scripting knowledge on .bteq in Unix/ linux environments
• Monitoring of Data and BI Jobs in TWS Scheduler
• Transform static reports and dashboards into interactive ones as may be possible
• Strive to develop self-serve dashboards with capability to dynamically analyze data as per users needs
• Automate manual reporting as much as possible to generate FTE save
• Perform Real time reporting as per applicable use cases in order to enable business in taking timely decisions
• Conduct POCs using latest in-market tools and technologies for creating innovative BI solutions
• Ensure data capture is consistent and accurate
• Actively participate in the Barclays BI community to learn and share best practices, standards/guidelines, tips and tricks
• Work closely with designers, data team and testers to ensure execution and delivery of good quality deliverables
• Work closely with stakeholders and project managers to ensure expectations are managed and any risks/issues are highlighted in timely manner
• Create and maintain required technical documentation
• Identify and document best practices to be followed in the BI development process
• Drive adoption of the BI’s by doing demos and road shows

What we’re looking for:

 6 plus years of hand on experience in developing complex/medium/easy reports in Qlik View,Qliksense ,Tableau
 Solid working knowledge of writing SQL queries in Teradata and Hive/Impala
 Working Knowledge on scripts (.bteq ) in Unix/ linux environments
 Comfortable with Extracting, transforming and loading data from multiple sources such as Teradata and Hive into BI tools
 Create performance efficient data models and dashboards
 Exposure in JavaScript to build Extension objects
 Hands on experience with Opentext Actuate
 Able to generate formatted alerts from dashboards as per the defined control points
 Attention to details with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
 Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
 Comfortable working in a corporate environment, someone who has business acumen and an innovative mind-set
 Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and project management techniques

Skills that will help you in the role:

 Ability to read, write, JavaScript, Python and HTML code
 Exposure to AWS reporting
 High level understanding of ETL processes
 Banking domain experience
 Quantitative mind set, with a desire to work in a data-intensive environment
