E2open is currently seeking an energetic Senior Software Engineer to join our Research & Development Group. This position involves the development of leading edge Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) transportation management applications that drive complex multi-company transportation management dashboards, workflows, and business-to-business supply chain data interchanges. At E2open, you will be an integral member of a dynamic organization, working on cutting-edge technology that transforms the way companies do business with their trading partners in complex, multi-tier supply chains. This position can be based in one of the many E2open offices.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop complex multi-enterprise transportation management applications
  • Participate in architecture and technical design & development of product enhancements
  • Work with product management team to understand requirements and transition product requirements into robust software designs and implementations
  • Ensure our software products and services are delivered with automated test coverage.
  • Work with our technical writers to ensure our software products and services are properly documented

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science preferred, plus, 3+ years of experience in developing and supporting scalable enterprise applications, application servers and related web technologies
  • Ruby on Rails/Java developers preferred
  • Full-stack preferred
  • SQL (Postgres is a bonus)
  • Domain experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, and/or Transportation preferred
  • Distributed architecture experience (Microservices)
  • Experience in building and operating an enterprise production codebase
  • Experience working on a Linux/Unix environment including basic scripting skills
  • Experience working with database technologies and SQL
  • Strong understanding of REST web services, JSON, XML, Javascript, HTML and Web 2.0 technologies
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of fundamental testing principles, concepts, and techniques. Experience with RSpec and other automated testing tools is a plus.
  • Understanding and experience with software development life cycles, agile/scrum development experience is a plus.
  • Experience in implementing Ruby on Rails and object oriented design patterns, excellent understanding of coding methods and best practices
  • Must have strong analytic and problems solving skills, must be able to present ideas clearly and possess a strong desire to learn
