Job Purpose and Impact

The State Originator , will work as part of a team to perform routine, basic sourcing support for Feed and Food Grains in Karnataka . In this role, you will contribute to soliciting and analyzing requests for proposals, negotiating contracts and coordinating supplier integration plans with internal clients for the raw commodities .

Key Accountabilities
  • Understand business requirements for Feed and Food Grain categories aligned with local sourcing requirements.
  • Originating feed grains and food grains from the local market
  • Conduct basic research and analysis using a basic understanding of data management and analytics and sourcing. Market intelligence and Grain origination in the state from transactional Traders, Brokers and local merchants thus creating efficiency, seasonal accounts, and opportunity accounts.
  • Participate in local supplier selection and negotiations. Create purchase efficiency by expanding current vendor base
  • Gather and decide on market intelligence in form of Weather reports, Crop sowing status, crop conditions, contract execution and tracking, railway movement tracking with respect to exports and domestic trades and competition activity
  • Compliance of all mandi/ local Agricultural market committee requirements. Respective contract execution ensure records and controls in proper state.
  • Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Co-ordinating with the internal and external customers
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in agricultural sciences
  • Other minimum qualifications may apply
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5-7 Years of experience in sourcing for food and feed ingredients in Karnataka.
  • Fluent in Spoken and written Kannada
  • Masters in Agricultural Science/ MBA – Agri
