Landis+Gyr EMEA Devices team is seeking a Firmware lead. The Devices team, primarily working for EMEA region, is made up of electrical and software engineers and is responsible for the electronics/SW/FW in our products. We support the development of new technologies and products and work closely with other global teams across Landis+Gyr.

As a Firmware lead for high-volume global smart energy solution devices, you should be capable of:-Independently lead firmware development team, problem analysis and arrive at solutions
Provide technical leadership in requirement collection, design and development
Collaborate with multi-functional and global teams
Participate in project planning and own technical risk management from end to end.
Improve quality, efficiency and innovation drive in the team. Develops ways to improve technical methodology, processes, and products within work group.
Collaborate with other teams for knowledge sharing and own initiatives for knowledge sharing practices

Job Requirements:

Overall 7+ years of experience in design and development of embedded systems

Expertise and hands-on coding experience in C++ & C.

Experience in handling projects with 16/32 bit microcontrollers from any one or more makes such as Renesas, TI, ARM.

Experience in communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, RS232, RS485, USB, Ethernet.

Experience in communication technologies such as LTE, 2G/3G and RF-Mesh is a big plus

Expertise in working with RTOS, preferably threadX.

Knowledge of any Configuration Management System such as TFS and Requirement Management tools would be an added advantage.

Responsible for documentation of overall design of subsystem architecture and design

Mentoring skills and ability to coach/mentor junior Engineers in the team

Hands-on experience in various phases of the firmware development lifecycle preferably on energy devices including troubleshooting/debugging with tools like oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer.

Developing technical specifications, Proof Of Concepts, evaluating prototypes and making recommendations, defining program scope, driving design / engineering reviews are part of the job responsibility.

Resolve technical & design conflicts/issues with the support of firmware architect and Product Owners.

Able to lead a team of programmers. Experience in project monitoring and control, code reviews, defect prevention, configuration management, etc.

Excellent people and customer leadership.

Good to have experience in developing embedded software for Smart Energy products.

Experience in Agile Process, TFS, Azure DevOps is a big plus

Security protocols like PKINIT, TLS and IPSec

Tools & Scripting languages : Git/TFS/JIRA, Eclipse/Qt/Python/IAR

Hardware-16/32-bit microcontrollers (preferably ST, Renesas and TI devices)
