Your Role and Responsibilities

The Hybrid Data Management (HDM) Cloud Development Operations team is looking for enthusiastic and talented DevOps Technical leader/Senior DevOps Engineer to join us. Our services include Db2 on Cloud, Db2 Warehouse on Cloud, Netezza on Cloud and coming soon: Data Virtualization as a Service. Our services are tightly integrated with IBM Cloud Pak for Data where customers can access a suite of leading data and AI capabilities in a unified experience.

The development operations team ensures the service is highly available and fully optimized in a 24/7/365 environment. Team members are located worldwide, and frequently communicate and work with customers and other development team members to ensure the services are optimal. In addition, team members are expected to take part in development projects to optimize the efficiency of the team, based on the current prioritized development backlog

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 10+ years of relevant industry experience with experience in Architecture and Design
• Experience with problem determination, root cause analysis and debugging complex distributed systems
• Working knowledge of Linux Operating Systems (such as Red Hat, Ubuntu, etc.)
• Working knowledge of Dockers, Kubernetes, Containers and virtualization technologies
• Working knowledge of building and/or maintaining Cloud SaaS Services on IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure
• Working knowledge of SQL database technologies (Db2, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
• Working knowledge of UNIX Shell scripting, Python/Perl, YaML, Golang, REST APIs
• Experience in building and maintaining automated CD/CI systems
  

Preferred Technical And Professional Expertise

• Programming skills using languages such as C/C++/Java development skills
• Familiarity with Compute, Storage and Networking components from IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure
• Familiarity with Red Hat OpenShift
• Familiarity with LogDNA/Sysdig/Prometheus for cluster analysis in a Kubernetes environment
• Understanding of Extract, transform, and Load (ETL) concepts
