Banking QA Lead

As a Consultant at Deloitte Consulting, you will be responsible for quality assurance on large-scale complex software solutions at enterprise level. These applications are often high-volume mission critical systems that would provide you an exposure with end-to-end functional and domain knowledge. You will work with business, functional and technical teams on the project located across shores. You will be responsible to independently lead a team, mentor team members, and drive all test deliverables across project life cycle. You will be involved in end-to-end delivery of the project from testing strategy, estimations, planning, execution and reporting.

Work you’ll do

Lead and drive discussions with business and functional analysts and to determine test strategy, test plan and test design and help the team understand requirements and resolve ambiguities.

Understand the business objectives and scope of the work and get buy in on the test strategy and approach from all relevant stakeholders.

Develop test deliverables following established testing design, standards and quality processes in projects.

Manage project execution by defining the work-breakdown structure in accordance with the master project plan and track the progress.

Establish test design / execution guidelines, templates and standards and ensure that the team follows them.

Proactively looks for ways and patterns to continuously automate feature testing with measurable and tangible goals

Run the daily calls / scrum meetings with respect to deliverables and build the weekly status reports to be reviewed with leadership.

Perform detailed reviews on deliverables. Provide technical guidance to the team members.

Interact with onsite clients, coordinator / scrum master, analyst and offshore development, testing, support team and other cross-functional teams.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
B.E. / B.Tech / M.C.A. / M.Sc (CS)

Prior Experience:
4 to 6 years of industry experience in Manual and Automation testing.

Skills / Project Experience - required:
Deep testing experience working in the banking domain – preferred commercial and retail banking.

Strong analytical skills in analyzing the complex business, functional and technical requirements

Good understanding of quality assurance methodologies, life cycle, and processes; Experience on Agile/Scrum based delivery.

Demonstrated experience of leading teams

Ability to identify project risks and work with PMO to document, evaluate, assess, and respond to the risks.

Experience in creating test strategy, test framework design, test plans, test guidelines and test workplan.

Experience with estimation models to provide accurate estimates for manual/automation test plans

Strong analytical skills to participate in troubleshooting of issues with different teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution

Ability to identify gaps in the requirements and suggest improvements; Ability to understand functional design document and create effective test scenarios leveraging different test design techniques

Ability to understand the application architecture and its data flow; Ability to create and maintain test data

Ability to assess impact of changes and identify regression test suites

Ability to communicate clearly across teams in the project

Experience in web services testing using SOAP UI/UFT/Postman

Experience on any test management/defect management tool like HP ALM / JIRA / Bugzilla / Test Director / Visual Studio Test Manager / Clear Quest.

Good understanding of domain or industry to drive the deliverables that meet clients’ business objectives

Skills / Project Experience - good to have:
ISTQB, PHP and CSM Certified

Experience working with payment platforms/systems

Experience working with core banking platforms like TCS BaNCS, Finacle etc.

Experience of working at Client/Onsite.
