Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is currently recruiting for a Consultant - Static Equipment with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry, and to be part of the Equipment Engineering team based in Kolkata, India.

  • Provides technical support and governance to Projects via Lead Engineer
  • Technical interface with Clients, other Departments, suppliers / vendors and consultants
  • Provide technical direction of the Static Equipment team and act as the technical focus for the Discipline, including project set-up, close-out and butt lists
  • Review, support and agree discipline technical issues with the Lead Discipline Engineer, including dissemination and implementation of discipline ‘best practices’ on projects
  • Represent Wood on outside Technical Committees
  • Prime contact for affiliate offices in providing technical support and development in their specialist field
  • Responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and performance of the Static Equipment Group both in the servicing of individual projects and pursuance of strategic goals and management policies
  • Responsible for discipline specific software, including validation, keeping abreast of latest market developments, training and ensuring correct deployment on to Projects
  • Develop and mentor discipline technical staff and provide input to technical succession plan for discipline
Skills / Qualifications:
Minimum of 30 years of experience in Equipment Engineering environment with lead role in project execution (Essential)
  • Ability to lead very large team in a multi-discipline task force based engineering Environment (Essential)
  • Proven expertise in FEED and EPC Engineering execution (Essential) including Field Engineering in Project execution (Desirable)
  • Conversant with various international codes and customer specifications (Essential)
  • Conversant with detail Design and Engineering of Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Storage Tanks (Essential)
  • Conversant with Design and Engineering of Glass Lined Vessels, Rubber Lined Vessels, FRP Tanks, Rectangular Tanks. Preparation and checking of Tank detail drawings and cutting layout for Tanks (Essential)
  • Graduate in Mechanical Engineering (Essential)
  • Post Graduate in Engineering (Desirable)
  • Membership to Professional Organizations (Desirable)
  • Shall be familiar with 3D model environment like Open Plant, AVEVA E3D, SP3D or equivalent (Desirable)
