MISSION
  • The role of a Purchasing Manager is to manage all plant supplier issues in line with Group Purchasing policy and to improve Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD) performance
  • Monitor, direction & Management of purchasing associates (Production, Program, MRO, Assistant buyers )
Responsibilities & Activities
  • Ensure high level of supplier quality performance and pilot appropriate action plans for corrections with Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) to attain Parts Per Million (PPM) targets
  • Define opportunities for cost reduction and validate them with Commodity teams
  • Work closely with Supply Chain to support supplier deviation in Missed Deliveries Per Million (MPM)
  • Ensure the plant vendor list is updated and in line with Commodity strategy. Propose and contribute to downsizing
  • Monitor all relevant suppliers and parts information and ensure proper ordering, invoicing & cost control
  • Inform Commodity teams in case of major volume changes. Validate Plant QCD information sent to the Group
  • Priorities local resolution of issues and escalade to Division or Commodity when needed
  • For Non-Production purchasing: apply Group purchasing policy/contracts and negotiate specific local requirements
  • Ensure the reporting of designated activities, indexes, supplier parts, PPM and metrics, following Group policies.
  • Lead and participate continuous improvement efforts.
  • Actively participate in program planning and status meeting as required.
  • To support the APQP process for purchasing related action.
  • Lead and facilitate a team structured environment
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures to eliminate non-value-added activities
  • Identify, execute, and track cost reduction opportunities

Profile RequirementsPersonal Background
  • Masters or bachelor degree in engineering
  • Minimum 10 to 12 years experience in an industrial environment
  • Results oriented with strong written and oral communications skills
Job Technical Skills
  • Analyze cost structures and drivers relation to supplier price submissions
  • Successfully negotiate prices, timing and terms in support of PO objectives.
  • Create and manage processes and procedures within the department
  • MS Office proficient (Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Good understanding of BMM & MONO
  • To set appropriate goals and objectives for subordinates and effectively manage people
