Kerala Solid Waste Management Project (KSWMP), backed by the World Bank and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Development Bank, represents a joint endeavor between the Government of Kerala (GoK)and urban local bodies (ULBs). This initiative strives to revolutionize solid waste management practices statewide, implementing sustainable solutions and fostering efficient waste disposal mechanisms. With three key components, the project focuses on institutional development, capacity building, grant support for ULBs, and the development of regional waste management facilities.

District Project Management Unit (DPMU) Malappuram, per G.O. (Ms) No.105/2023/LSGD dated 01-05-2023, expressed keenness to onboard architectural interns for aiding in the development of designs for a centralized solid waste management facility.

Eligibility Criteria for Internship Applications: Students from recognized universities/institutions in India or abroad are eligible to apply for the internship if they meet the following conditions:

a. Undergraduate students who have finished/are in their second year/4th semester exams.

b. Postgraduate students who completed/are in their first year/2nd semester exams or pursuing research/PhD.

c. Graduates/Postgraduates awaiting admission for higher studies after completing their final exams are also considered.

A certificate for completed internship will be provided upon successful conclusion. Prospective interns must furnish a College/Institution’s No Objection Certificate (NOC) upon joining, essential to avoid cancellation of candidacy. The internship program operates on an unpaid basis, emphasizing skill development over monetary compensation.
