Job Description

The Learning Experience Design Manager is responsible for leading a team of learning experience designers and instructional designers to create innovative and engaging learning experiences for employees or students. The individual in this role will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including subject matter experts, project managers, and technologists, to develop effective learning solutions that align with organizational goals and objectives. The Learning Experience Design Manager will oversee the entire learning experience design process, from needs analysis and content development to delivery and evaluation

Responsibilities:

1. Manage a team of learning experience designers and instructional designers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.

2. Lead the design and development of effective learning experiences, incorporating instructional strategies, multimedia elements, and interactive components.

3. Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to analyze learning needs, identify objectives, and determine appropriate learning solutions.

4. Conduct research on emerging trends and best practices in learning experience design, and integrate them into the organization’s learning programs.

5. Ensure learning experiences are aligned with adult learning principles, cognitive science, and instructional design theories.

6. Oversee the development and implementation of assessment strategies to measure the effectiveness of learning experiences and make data-driven improvements.

7. Manage the selection and utilization of learning technologies, tools, and platforms to enhance the learning experience.

8. Collaborate with project managers to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring timely and high-quality completion of projects.

9. Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and emerging technologies related to learning experience design, and recommend their integration into learning programs.

10. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the learning experience design team.

Skills
1. Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, learning design, educational technology, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.

2. Proven experience in learning experience design, instructional design, or a similar role, preferably in a corporate or educational setting.

3. Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design models, and learning technologies.

4. Proficiency in using authoring tools, learning management systems, and multimedia software.

5. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

6. Strong leadership and team management abilities, with the capacity to inspire and motivate a diverse team of designers.

7. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

8. Creative mindset and a passion for designing engaging and interactive learning experiences.

9. Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to assess learner needs, evaluate learning effectiveness, and propose improvements.

10. Knowledge of data-driven decision-making and experience using learning analytics to inform design decisions.
