Job description

  • 1. To assist in establishment of animal facility/vivarium as per CPCSEA, AAALAC and GLP principles
  • 2. Preparation/review of SOPs required for functioning of animal house facility as per national and international standards
  • 3. To ensure animal health monitoring as per FELASA, CPCSEA, AAALAC and GLP requirements
  • 4. Monitor animal house facility maintenance activities as per established SOPs for daily room activities (veterinary care practices, temperature, Humidity, Air cycles, quarantine records, Form B records, microbial monitoring etc.,) and other documentation/record keeping
  • 5. Perform duties as a Study or Attending veterinarian and train the Animal care personnel for their job/role and other staff
  • 6. To be a part of IAEC/CPCSEA committee for Part B protocols approval
  • 7. Monitor sterilization of animal house accessories (animal cages, water bottles, bedding material etc.,)
  • 8. Ensure animal health/veterinary care and safe procurement, transportation, quarantining and Issuance of animals to study team
  • 9. Ensure occupational safety measures are in place as per standards/SOPs
