Job Title: Business Analyst – Data Science & Analytics

Purpose of job:

To perform the essential functions for integrating analytics capabilities in the organisation by defining business problems that analytics can help solve and should be able to independently create an analytical solution to these problems and embed solutions into business operations. To understand stakeholder needs and help envision what can be achieved by solving it through Analytics.

Experience areas:

  • Jr to Mid level of experience in analytics domain
  • Good knowledge of Statistical techniques and their application
  • Demonstrated experience in coming up solutions to loosely defined business problems by leveraging structured and unstructured data sets
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis, quantitative analytics, forecasting / predictive analytics, multivariate testing, and optimization algorithms.
  • Jr to Mid level of experience with depth and breadth of Analytics Algorithms and Tools
  • Programming skills – R / Python with Machine Learning / Statistical modelling
  • Data modelling and Azure cloud experience
  • Some experience on AI, Deep Learning
  • Exposure to Web Analytics

Knowledge of:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Story Telling – able to narrate / translate insights in way required by the stakeholders

Accountabilities, responsibilities and main duties:
(including people management and finance)

  • We are looking for a self-starter who is passionate about analytics and solving business problems through Analytics applications in a challenging environment. The candidate would be an individual contributor with good exposure in breadth and depth of analytics algorithms and tools.
  • Some of the key expectations from the role are shared below.
  • To solve data-intensive problems using analytical tools and techniques by offering actionable insights and recommendations that lead to measurable business impact for internal and external stakeholders
  • Understanding of Microsoft Azure platform including components like Azure Data Factory will be a definite plus
  • Good hands on experience in providing Analytics insights using Machine Learning algorithms (regression, time series, clustering, text analytics, predictive modelling)
  • Can work independently in the analytics project lifecycle - Understand requirement, Model using R / Python, Provide Insights and work with stakeholders to consume those insights
  • Exposure / experience with deep learning algorithms will be an added advantage
  • Must have exposure to google analytics, SEO, Social Media Marketing, Campaign Analytics
  • Modelling data and sourcing data (structured and unstructured) from various internal and external systems, cleansing and preparing for statistical analysis
  • Understand the nature, structure & quality of data, identify data issues and suggest solutions by testing hypotheses and statistical validation of results.
  • Ensure on-time & error free delivery, proactively escalate issues when required
  • Able to communicate with all the internal and external stakeholders in absence of Senior business analyst, keeping them updated on technical findings or issues.

Qualifications:

Essential
  • B.E / B.Tech. / Masters in Mathematics / Computer science

Desirable
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration
