Position overview:

Reports to the IT Manager, PLM Solution Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting Product Lifecycle Management solutions that align with the Thermon’s business objectives. PLM Solution Architect will work closely with stakeholders, including business leaders, IT teams, and vendors, to understand requirements, develop strategies, and deliver scalable PLM solutions that streamline processes and enhance productivity.

Primary duties:

  • Develop implementation strategies and roadmaps for deploying PLM solutions across the organization.
  • Lead the configuration, customization, and integration of PLM software platforms to meet business needs.
  • Define best practices and standards for PLM implementation, data management, and system administration.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams during solution implementation and integration phases.
  • Work with PLM solution provider/resellers and contribute to streamlining design processes, improving collaboration, and ensuring efficient CAD/PLM design practices with Thermon’s equipment.
  • Supports the business operations and users, in using the PLM system, dealing with operational issues, and working with IT Support for technical assistance, changes, enhancements.
  • Collaborate with Thermon’s business process owners to understand current processes and design optimized methodologies using Autodesk Fusion Manage PLM software.
  • Leverage Autodesk PLM software to streamline design processes, manage product data, and enhance collaboration among engineering teams.
  • Ensure seamless integration of Autodesk PLM solutions into Thermon’s design and engineering workflows, addressing any interoperability challenges.
  • Develop training materials and documentation for Thermon engineers and designers on the use of PLM software and optimized methodologies.
  • Adopt industry best practices, emerging technologies, and advancements in PLM solutions to continually refine and enhance design processes.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and IT, to implement and standardize PLM methodologies and ensure that implemented methodologies meet quality standards and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct system testing, performance optimization, and troubleshooting to ensure the reliability and scalability of PLM solutions.

Education and Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science / Electrical or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in PLM technology domain (solution design, install, configuration, setup, and upgrades).
  • 5+ years of experience conducting the following activities: Business requirements gathering, fit-gap analysis, functional design process, system testing and solution delivery, UAT customer support, process document creations and review, working with onsite and offshore delivery model.

Skills:


  • Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Java, C++, Python) and web technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, system integration, and enterprise architecture principles.
  • Familiarity with ALM / SDLC tools
  • Experience in Engineering Change Management (ECO), CAD Data Management, Document Control, Engineering Audit and Reporting.
  • Experience using analytics and metrics to assess supply chain performance and identify and quantify improvement opportunities.
  • Experience working with Autodesk Fusion 360 Manage or Windchill or Teamcenter or any PLM system.
  • Experience in engineering/manufacturing process management and their collaboration
  • Experience with ERP integrations including Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations is preferred.
  • Experience in working with Workgroup Manager - For ECAD and MCAD Integrations
  • Relevant certifications in PLM (e.g., Siemens PLM Certification, PTC Certified PLM Consultant) are a plus.
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD environments, PLM Platforms, and tools is preferred.
  • Knowledge in handling parts, BOM & documents in CAD environments & PDM
  • Ability to drive and work in cross-functional teams, distributed across locations and time zones and across multiple hierarchy levels.
  • Proven ability to drive change and implement process improvements in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in Root cause analysis and escalations.
  • Good experience in creating functional / technical documentation.
  • Good communicator and presentation skills
  • Fluent English communication skills
