We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Software Engineer

Principal responsibilities

Highlights of department:

Global Asset Management, being part of the Group investment businesses with more than US$400 billion of assets currently under management, is the core investment platform of the HSBC Group which provides investment solutions to retail, institutional and private clients in all major financial markets.

The candidate will work as part of the Pune, India based support team, linking closely with the wider support team based across China, India and Brazil, providing Specialist Support for Global Asset Management (AMG)

AMG IT systems has varied range of technology catering to various AMG business needs. They predominantly include front office systems. Data management systems, integration systems, Performance and client reporting systems, Risk and finance systems. There are also a number of new or evolving in house applications providing risk, decision and trade support for the various business units for users based around the globe.

The Production Specialist will be working directly for the Regional Support Manager, providing support within AMG Production Support as AMG Production evolves towards best practice and world class support.

Responsible for:

Provide support for a range of front office platforms

Supporting multiple portfolio’s including AMG applications like B-one, Client reporting, APT Risk, GCP, Bloomberg AIM, AIP, Risk Repository and other various portfolio’s as required

Provide consultancy, technical analysis and incident resolution services to the Front Office business, with the goal of delivering on site support

Actively look for process improvements, efficiency gain and technology

Work with development team to resolve complex technical issues / problems

Work closely with other Support teams in the resolution of issues

Assist with Support Global MI reporting

Resolve user queries and issues.

Ensure engagement with Global team

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

  • Good exposure to GCP
  • Good understanding of shell and bat scripts.
  • Expert PL/SQL skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good Unix Knowledge
  • Excellent scheduling tools.
  • Full understanding of ITIL Service delivery and Service operations.
  • Excellent MS-SQL knowledge
  • Excellent in log tracking and analysing with good understanding of error codes
  • Hand on with monitoring and alerting tools and systems.
  • Good understanding of middleware systems
  • Broad knowledge and experience in the investment management industry covering business processes and front to back IT systems under a dynamic regional environment
  • Proven track record of defining support processes, driving implementation and making a difference in an investment banking IT environment
  • Proven track record in a development or support role working under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Proven ability to translate group standards and best practice into practical application locally, proposing creative solutions and driving implementation
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively
  • Understanding of complex infrastructures and Front Office trading systems.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Application and production support with reputed Financial organisation.
  • Broad experience in challenging / demanding environments.
  • Experiencing supporting IT systems and infrastructures. Understanding of investment bank front and back office process flows, including those from upstream and downstream systems
  • Experience of delivering value in demanding situations.
  • Experience of performance management, communications protocols and a broad range of technologies
  • Expert user and sound knowledge of Control-M, Sybase and Oracle.
  • Expert in monitoring tools like ITRS Geneos or Graffana or Elastico
  • Experience of deployment and release automations

  • Able to assimilate new knowledge quickly and adaptable to change
  • Able to troubleshoot applications and underlying platforms.
  • Good knowledge of IT infrastructure
  • Highly literate in support methods/processes and experienced in pragmatic implementation

  • Excellent communication skills, written, verbal and presentational
