The Selected candidate will work with a highly motivated team involved in development of complex embedded solutions. The candidate will join with our Bangalore development center and will be part of Core Platforms & Products team in Bangalore reporting to PM of the DC.

ROLE : Software Designer :

This position is for a highly motivated, energetic Software Designer who will develop software applications for Train control systems (onboard, wayside)

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

As a Software Designer, you will demonstrate that a software or software component fulfills its intended use when placed in its intended environment (real or simulated). You will interface with System, project, and Quality teams to meet QCD commitments as per the project needs. Expert level Embedded software system techniques implemented in C/C++ RTOS is an absolute requirement. Demonstrated implementations with various Microcontroller family is required. Development of embedded applications that utilize Greenhills, ColdFire, Intel, and Arm processors on bare metal, Linux and real time operating systems (RTOS) is a plus. Our programs employ a full life cycle software development process that is scaled to the size of the project. The candidate will lead requirements capture, software architecture and design, implementation, and unit test.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Deliver end to end software deliverables such as software requirements specifications, software design documents, and professional high quality software executables.
• Work collaboratively with engineering and product development teams and cross-functional partners develop, execute, and maintain
• Work closely with Systems Engineers to understand operations and translate them into clear software requirements
• Own and/or participate in technical reviews
• Work with a field support team to diagnose customer issues and quickly resolve issues
• Follow the Quality Management Standards and necessary vital software design standards (Apply processes and standards)
• Keep a strong link with the Sw architect, Hw designer, Reliability and V&V departments, through the whole Sw design cycle
• Contribute to continuous improvement ( Return on Experience, process, …)

EDUCATION:

B.Tech./ B.E./M.E./M.Tech./M.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology, EE, EEE,

BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES:

• Be Innovative and demonstrate to peers and implement in creation of code libraries, reusable codes, and model-based developments, He should be agile and adaptive to Project dynamics
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills and able to guide, influence and convince others in a matrix organization.
• Good Team player and have ownership towards assigned task & deliveries

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE:

• Programming: C, C++,
• Knowledge Of- RT OS -Linux, VX Works, QNX
• Exposure/ Knowledge Of Protocols – TCP/IP, CAN..
• Exposure/ Knowledge Of Standards: CENELEC SIL4 / DO178A / DO178B
• Proficient Experience on programming with Microcontroller family, TI chip, ( Assembly Programming)
• Understanding of Compute Engines, VM, Containers is nice to have
• Strong Problem-solving aptitude

SOFTWARE SKILLS:

• 8+ years of experience in design of Software modules in complex embedded systems.
• The ideal candidate should have good experience in Embedded/RTOS applications and good application to software process and coding guidelines.
• The ideal applicant will able to thrive in a highly collaborative workplace and actively engage in the development process spread across different geographical locations.
• Significant experience in delivery of design, analysis, development, testing and delivery.
• Rail industry background is highly desirable, alternatively similar safety critical industries can also be considered.

IT Skills: MS office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

LANGUAGE & SKILLS:

• Proficient in English language
• Good written and Verbal communication skills
