Job brief

4+ years of data science and machine learning experience with at least 4 years in working directly with clients or business users for delivering data science solutions to business problems. Experience with complex feature engineering, time series analysis, frequency domain analysis, anomaly detection and sequence-based predictive modelling (Markov Chain / HMM / RNN / LSTM / GRU) is required. Experience with deep learning / artificial neural networks (ANN) is a big plus. Strong experience with sensor data / telematics / Industrial IoT with background in practical vertical applications in any of manufacturing / automotive / transportation / power & amp; energy / oil & amp; gas / mining is desirable. Programming experience in Scala / Java is highly preferred. Python is good as well.

Responsibilities

  • Formulating, suggesting and managing data-driven projects which are geared at furthering the business’s interests
  • Collating and cleaning data from various entities for later use by junior data scientists
  • Delegating tasks to Junior Data Scientists in order to realise the successful completion of projects
  • Monitoring the performance of Junior Data Scientists and providing them with practical guidance, as needed
  • Selecting and employing advanced statistical procedures to obtain actionable insights
  • Cross-validating models to ensure their generalisability

  • Who can mentor younger or less experienced individuals and teach them what they have learned
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills and can explain their work to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Who can take responsibility for their projects and can complete the work
  • Who can lead other members who are contributing to their projects and work effectively with them
