Job Description Summary The Should Cost Leader will be accountable to implement a Should Cost (SC) methodology in Hydro Business allowing to improve our competitiveness at tender stage and our contribution margin on projects. This person will provide a vision of the SC activities needed at management & operational level to bring our costs down, and lead the implementation of the corresponding roadmap, in line with our business strategy. This person will work closely with Product leaders, Supply Chain and Engineering. His/her main target will be to increase Hydro’s market shares on most profitable market segments by decreasing the Hydro product costs.
The Should Cost Leader will be responsible for cost optimization for internal manufacturing operations for the 3 Hydro factories.
The Should Cost Leader will also take part of key sourcing negotiation based on supplier cost breakdown evaluation and should cost analysis. As key interface between Sourcing and Engineering, the Should Cost Leader will support the development of cost model for the global commodities in close collaboration with the Global Commodity Leaders.
The Should Cost Leader shall be able to propose some global commodity analytics reports (coverage of cost model, use of should cost, etc..) to bring visibility of his contribution to the Management.Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Be accountable for developing Should Cost approach & bringing related benefits in Hydro business
  • Build & implement Hydro SC vision, roadmap & KPIs, animate a cross functional SC community
  • Coordinate SC priorities based on POs to be placed, product cost-out & NPI roadmaps
  • Engage product leaders to maximize benefits of SC for their respective product at project & tender stage
  • Lead HEN/HSC/C&C teams in SC modeling activities with support of REN SC expert
  • Leverage modeling efforts among component teams
  • Support & coach HSC/HEN/C&C teams for gap analysis, supplier engagement, negotiations and workshops with suppliers or our own manufacturing shops
  • Liaise with SC expert at REN level in order to share best practices cross business
  • Support elaboration of cost model
  • Take part of key negotiation
  • Monitor impact on global commodities

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Advanced engineering degree and possibly experience in supply chain positions (sourcing, manufacturing)
  • Master’s degree from an accredited university or college
  • Experience in the Hydro (preferably) or Energy industry preferred
