Job Description

VMware is looking for an experienced Field Marketing Manager to join our India marketing team. The individual must provide leadership in driving partner marketing initiatives and digital programs in INDIA and in close collaboration with the INDIA Head of Marketing, the local Sales team, and the APJ Marketing team. This individual will report to the Head of Marketing in INDIA.

Key Objectives:

Partner Coverage: The development and execution of key marketing programs that generate awareness and partner-led pipeline. Digital Marketing: Drive digital demand generation across a mix of online channels, with specialization in digital content marketing and paid media (social, display, content syndication) as well as large online events.

Key Responsibilities:

Partner Coverage:

You will be responsible for driving Marketing programs that generate awareness and partner-led pipeline. The candidate will work closely, internally with Partner Business Managers, Partner Marketing Managers, Operations and externally with Partners & Alliances team.

This role will be cross functional and requires an individual with a diverse skill set which focuses on analytics, marketing communications, budget management and most of all, digital marketing.

  • Align with Partner Business and APJ / Global Partners & Alliances Marketing stakeholders on strategies and Go-to-Marketing programs.
  • Align with field Partner Marketing Managers on local needs as you execute pan-INDIA marketing programs that generate measurable partner-led pipeline and revenue for VMware.
  • Partner with the Commercial Marketing team to accelerate leads passed to partners for Commercial.
  • With your experience in digital marketing, refine existing marketing programs with digital marketing tactics to get optimum awareness and top-of funnel leads via identified programs like Partner Account Based Marketing and Sales Plays.
  • Leverage partner readiness programs like Empower to educate marketing personnel in our partner community to raise awareness and adoption of digital marketing in our joint marketing programs.
  • Be an active participant, contributor, and collaborator in the best performing Partner Marketing team in the region and IT industry.
  • Drive cadence with VMware stakeholders to prioritize Cloud Partners’ offerings for marketing investments via business case reviews
  • Define marketing strategies to ensure growth of Cloud Partners’ VMware-based technologies via achievement of sales goals
  • Ensure strategic alignment of Cloud Partners marketing plans to align to VMware’s strategic IT priorities
  • Create case studies and videos with messaging which will evangelize the VMware based technology value add in the Cloud Partners’ solution(s)
  • Work with VMware PR and Analyst teams on opportunities to amplify Cloud Partner value in marketplace.
  • Represent and embed strategic Cloud Partner value proposition into broader VMware marketing and campaigns ecosystem for example product launches, customer and partner newsletters, flagship customer events and initiatives

Digital Demand Marketing

You will work closely with the sales team to understand region-specific priorities in addition to partnering with Global Demand Services team to create targeted digital marketing campaigns and online initiatives such as vFORUM Online, VMworld online that deliver best of breed content and experiences for our customers and prospects.

This role will be cross functional and requires an individual with a diverse skill set which focuses on analytics, marketing communications, budget management and most of all, digital marketing.

  • Execute digital demand programs designed to meet sales / solution objectives including executive engagement, communication tools, demand generation and contact acquisition, executing on marketing plans that allow us to scale in region.
  • Has deep experience analysing customer behavior data to uncover meaningful customer segments and personas, the paths they take to achieve a specific goal and quantifying the impact on KPIs
  • Collaborates well with analytics teams to define analysis goals and needs
  • Has experience with marketing automation tools, journey builder tools and other tools that help marketers visualize customer journeys, optimize, and deliver real-time, integrated, personalized, scalable CX
  • Partners with Digital Demand Services team to develop the overall inbound content strategy end-to-end that ensures the right type of content is included at each stage in the funnel (buyer’s journey) to engage prospects and optimize the impact.
  • Ensure target customers & priorities are top of mind in all regional marketing activities.
  • Actively collaborate with the solutions marketing, demand center, customer and partner marketing teams on your region’s needs as you develop, plan, execute, align region plans, and leverage central resources in the market.
  • Own reporting and tracking of program pipeline and performance results tied to quarterly and annual targets. Manage regional budgets, SFDC campaigns, and lead the process to meet operational targets and SLAs.
  • Drive & execute social media programs for the region

Attributes, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 10+ years’ experience in multi-touch marketing design and programs execution.

This candidate will need to be a self-starter and have the ability to work effectively in high-energy, cross-functional teams, and be able to confidently communicate and work collaboratively with peers and senior executives to create our uniquely differentiated value proposition.

  • Digital marketing experience is a must
  • Must possess Partner/Alliance/ISV/BIG4 marketing experience. Demonstrated negotiation skills, experience designing and executing joint with/through partner marketing plans that drive measurable partner-led pipeline.
  • Experience working with geographically dispersed teams and colleagues.
  • Ability to coordinate, manage, and execute multiple marketing campaigns concurrently.
  • Ability to execute quickly with the ability to pivot projects as needs change.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and actively seek candid feedback from relevant stakeholders.
  • Proven experience marketing through/with Cloud Partners including Cloud Hyperscalers preferred.
  • Familiarity with the technology sales cycle and how to employ marketing communication strategies to nurture leads, drive adoption and accelerate growth.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and highly cross-functional organization.
  • A strong team player – comfortable and motivated working in a collaborative environment, with the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders
  • Project management and relationship management experience is a must.
  • Analytical tendencies with a natural curiosity to measure, test, learn and iterate to achieve best results possible.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Tableau, and other marketing tools.
  • Knowledge of funnel lead generation tactics and sources
  • Needs to be able to travel 15% of time, when travel situation permits.
  • Self-motivated, able to work autonomously and communicate with remote management for extended periods of time.

  • Degree in Marketing, Business or Communications
