Min Experience: 5 + years into sourcing, Procurement and Buyer activities

Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology preferably in Mechanical .

Job Purpose

Executes procurement strategies for assigned components (goods / services), to ensure that quality, cost effective products are delivered in a timely manner

Manages purchasing activities in one Operating Center for the assigned discipline

Responsible for the entire purchasing activity entrusted to him (e.g. Commodity family or Entity).

Key interactions

Internally: Engineering Discipline Managers, Project Managers, Estimation department, cost control, legal department
Externally: Suppliers, Category Manager, Quality and Documentation etc.

Main accountabilities

Participates in defining procurement strategies and activities to mitigate risk together with the project manager
Fulfills strategic inquiring and purchasing activities within time and budget
Makes sure all the information necessary for issuing the inquiry is available
Checks purchasing conditions are applicable to the project and if not, reports to the Procurement Manager
Expedites bids for Critical Items / Parts
Conducts all negotiations with vendors
Prepares the purchase order documents in due time and checks for quality for Critical items
Contributes to recovery of amounts with important clients relevant to back-charges already notified to the vendors
May serve as technical expert in a Purchasing domain

Constant monitoring of market developments in terms of process, supplier work load and, in particular, for proposing new suppliers
Schedules and distributes the work among the various members of his/her own group
Supervises and approves the quality of the work produced by their team, in accordance with local procedures
May carries out complex/ strategic purchasing activities of the Entity / Domain
Prepares the Project Vendor List, and selects the vendors from whom to order for their own sector of commodities with the collaboration of Project Procurement Managers and Engineering Discipline Manager

Profile Required

Past experience of working as a Procurement Engineer, responsible for procuring engineered equipment and material for projects.

Well versed with Procurement processes within a project setting like source list, specification, bid process, expediting, inspection, etc.

Preferred experience in the Oil & Gas industry

Proven problem-solving and analytical abilities including pattern detection, root cause analysis, and issue resolution.

Ability to interpret and visualize data for reporting to end users and Leadership teams

Able to work in an evolving and fast-paced environment and adjust to multiple priorities and timelines.

Perform supplier negotiations, Effective communication, interpersonal and planning skills.

Proficient in SAP, Microsoft Office software suite (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint)

Experience using and drawing insights from procurement, engineering and market intelligence technology sources.

Handling commercial issues related to purchasing, logistics (including import requirements and clearances), inspection, warranty, back charge, etc.

Thorough knowledge of commercial terms and experience of purchasing from Indian/ Global suppliers.

Category health review of machineries, mechanical, piping and electrical items in collaboration with category managers.
