Eurofins IT Solutions India Pvt Ltd (A CMMI Level 3 Company) is a 100% full owned subsidiary of Eurofins. This young captive centre located in Bangalore was established in 2012 to be the largest IT Solutions group within Eurofins to cater to all the internal IT business needs. The primary focus of IT Solution group will be to develop the next generation LIMS (Lab Information Management system), Customer portals, Ecommerce solutions, ERP/CRM system & B2B platforms for various Eurofins Laboratories and businesses.

Job Description

TITLE:Business Intelligence Specialist

REPORTING TO:Development Manager

WORKING LOCATION: Bangalore, India

OVERALL OBJECTIVES:

As a key member of the team, the Business Intelligence Specialist will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of the Pyramid BI system within our Business Line. This includes gathering requirements, design, prepare specifications, implement ETL processes, train key users, and roll out the solution across the organization.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The main assignments of this position are:

  • Work with cross functional teams to understand business needs and help to translate those into meaningful reports, dashboards and other relevant BI technology artefacts.
  • Design and implement BI technology best practices, with structured and repeatable documented processes.
  • Translate business requirements into specifications, with clearly articulation of functional and non-functional requirements, including user experience, data sources/models, security, etc.
  • Design and implement data models and ETL processes to support the implementation of the system.
  • Prepare test plan and test cases to verify the reports and corresponding data.
  • Provide functional and technical assistance to other team members.
  • Oversee the delivery of the product as per the requirements.
  • Author standard operating procedures, user manuals, and other functional documentation.
  • Perform training to other team members and key-users.
  • Transition the implemented BI system into the Operations and Support team(s).

Type and duration of previous experience:

  • Minimum of 6 of professional experience in the data analytics field.
  • Lead implementer of at least 3 large commercial Business Intelligence platforms.
  • At least 3 years working in global projects.

Specific skills required:

Technical knowledge:

  • In-depth knowledge of BI / Data Analytics / ETL principles, technology, architecture, and corresponding lexicon.
  • High level of English communication skills (concise writing and orally convincing), including a neutral English accent to help to communicate with teams globally.
  • Ability to understand business requirements and clearly articulate them in the form of business/user requirement/specification documents.
  • Solid functional and technical background with an ability to give instructions to technical and non-technical audience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as standard operating procedures and reports already in place.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations, statistical analyses, and data interpretation.
  • Ability to contextualize raw data to ensure correct dimensions and measures are made available for the reports.
  • Ability to produce training documents and user manuals in simple and understandable English.
  • Ability to train users, incluiding senior management.
  • Ability to identify a comprehensive list of test cases to verify the accuracy of the data and reports.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and troubleshooting skills.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude, capacity for team environment, and exhibits a genuine interest in drug discovery in support of advancing human health.

The following will be a very welcomed plus:

  • Previous experience with Pyramid Analytics products.
  • Previous usage of with Microsoft AX, Salesforce, and Microsoft SharePoint as datasources.
  • ITIL foundation level certification.
  • Knowledge of SDLC especially Agile / SCRUM / Kanban.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint and TFS.

Travel:

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent degree. Comparable combination of experience, education and training will be considered.
