Position Summary:

The Purchasing Coordinator 2 plays a key role in the procurement operations associated with hardware, software, professional services, facilities, marketing and technology support. You will collaborate with various internal partners, finance and vendors to understand current business challenges, identify possible projects and successfully execute the purchasing process for existing and new commodities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Execute against company policies and purchasing procedures while working closely with internal partners, Finance and Accounts Payable. Includes reviewing requests, contract administration, purchase order placement and systems/documentation maintenance.

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with the supply base and internal customers.

  • Identify vendors that are no longer competitive or meeting service level criteria.

  • Analyze data using logic and reason to make sound decisions/recommendations. Identify and focus on specified metrics.

  • Identify opportunities for more efficient procurement processes.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for upholding F5’s Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external parties of a similar level and resolve issues diplomatically.

  • Pro-active in driving improved procurement strategies and aligning them with broader business strategies.

  • Strong attention to detail.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 2-5 years purchasing experience.

  • Intermediate MS Suite skills.

  • ERP system experience (Oracle preferred).

  • Confident, discrete and professional.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table. Duties require the ability to utilize a computer, communicate over the telephone and read printed material.

  • Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends).

  • Duties may require the ability to travel via automobile or airplane, approximately 5% or less of the time spent traveling.
