Roles and Responsibilities :

7-10 years relevant in Electrical Maintenance of Chemicals / Agro-Chemical /Speciality chemical /API industries only

The candidate should have recent experience and acumen of handling the following responsibilities with full accountability:

1. Thorough knowledge of network conceptualization, modelling and optimization by striking a balance between technical integrity and economic viability.

2. Had thorough knowledge of Short Circuit Study, Load flow Study, Motor reacceleration study, Harmonic Content Study, protection grading study (using ETAP network modelling). (Knowledge of Transient stability study will be an advantage)

3. Thorough knowledge of hazardous area classifications and engineering, installation and operational practices for electrical equipment that are to be used in these locations. (COMPEX / Equivalent certification will be an advantage)

4. Equipment sizing calculations & specification of major & long lead equipment (with list of qualifying assumptions).

5. Relay Protection settings and Coordination Studies and the analysis of protection grading curves. Review of protection selection per equipment and thorough knowledge of what curves are best fit to ascertain selectivity and sensitivity of protection.

6. Thorough knowledge of high impedance and low impedance differential protection schemes.

7. Reviewing Schematic Diagrams and standardization of all schemes for feeders of the same functionalities. Ensure implementation of the same schematic wiring and functionality across the boundary line of different manufacturers.

8. Understanding how to read ILDs & P&IDs in conjunction with the Schematics. Should be able to actively participate in P&ID reviews.

9. Thorough knowledge of Electrical Automation Systems (ENMCS) and understand the strengths and limitations of different types of communication protocols and their integration.

10. Thorough knowledge of large Gas Turbine Generators (in the range of 100 MW), their Excitation Systems, Governor Characteristics and paralleling requirements.

11. Thorough knowledge of generating equipment data sheet and requisition document by using electrical standards and specifications for 132kV GIS switchgear and switchboards and its associated protections.

12. Thorough knowledge of generating equipment data sheet and requisition document by using electrical standards and specifications for 33kV GIS switchgear and switchboards and its associated protections.

13. Thorough knowledge of generating equipment data sheet and requisition document by using electrical standards and specifications for large power & distribution transformers and its associated protections.

14. Thorough knowledge of generating equipment data sheet and requisition document by using electrical standards and specifications for High Voltage Induction & Synchronous Motors its associated protections.

15. Should be able to review the designs for Electrical Heat Tracing systems as applicable for large refineries and petrochemical complexes.

16. Should be able to review the designs for Cathodic Protection Systems as applicable for large refineries and petrochemical complexes.

17. Should be able to review the designs for Earthing, Lightning Protection & Electromagnetic Compatibility protection as applicable for large refineries and petrochemical complexes.

18. Should be able to review the designs for lighting Installations as applicable for large refineries and petrochemical complexes.

19. Should be able to review the designs and selection criteria for motors, heaters and other loads as applicable for large refineries and petrochemical complexes.

20. Should be able to review the designs for Cable Sizing Criteria & Calculations as applicable for large refineries and petrochemical complexes.

21. Should be able to review the designs for harmonic Filter designs (with clear understanding of its requirements in terms of THD & TDD) as applicable for large refineries and petrochemical complexes.

22. Should be able to actively participate in 30% and 60% model reviews.

23. Should be able to get deeply involved in constructability studies related to all the aforementioned equipment.

24. Should be able to prepare or review documents & QA/QC check lists for the installation of the aforementioned equipment.

25. Should be able to prepare or review documents & ITPs for the Cold & Hot Commissioning of the aforementioned equipment.

26. Should have thorough knowledge of various contracting strategies and demonstrate their benefits and pitfalls.

27. Should have thorough knowledge of procurement procedures and processes and should be able to demonstrate knowledge of tentative lead times to procure equipment and machinery taking into cognizance all conditions.

28. Candidate should have knowledge of handling some of the Design software packages like: ETAP, Dialux, Mathlab, Mathcad Prime, Digsilent Powerfactory, Naviswork, AutoCAD.

29. Thorough Knowledge of The Electricity Act 2003 and OISD Guidelines

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualification - BE Electrical

Knowledge:

It is required that the candidate possesses commercial acumen in carrying out the following:

a. Generate Scope of Work for Contracts (Special Conditions of Contracts)

b. Generate Equipment data Sheets and RFQ Documents;

c. Carry out Technical Bid Evaluations and independently communicate with vendors,

d. Carry out scheduling and estimation of design packages and deliverables

e. Carry out scheduling and estimation of electrical service

f. Contracts Adjudication (including liaisoning with legal department in cases of arbitration)

g. Bill Certification

It is desired that the candidate possesses full technical knowledge of the following regulations

a. IEC Standards

b. BIS Standards

c. OISD Guidelines

d. Amendment / Concession Request Procedure

e. Proficiency in reviewing / approving technical deviation notes put up by PMC/ Contractor.

f. It shall be expected from the candidate to study and know all project specific standards and documents within 3 months of assuming his / her duties

g. Knowledge of Electricity Acts, Rules and Grid Codes;
