Manager – 5G Radio SW Development

Role Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the future 5G and multi-radio architecture and technology development for sub-6 GHz macro and millimeter wave radios.
• Drive the development and maintaineance of an O-RAN RU Platform and application software.
• mentor the overall design team and explain the overall ideas and principles that guides the Radio application SW, as well explaining and motivating in leader ship context, like project nad product meetings.
• Work with internal stakeholders and Customers to define winning portfolio and roadmap
• Convert customer requirements and expectations to best in class design innovation
• Support different Radio vendors use the Mavenir Radio SW
• Provide active support for, product management, pre-sales and marketing activities including technical solutions support

Job Requirements

• Proven program leadership track record from complex multi-national 4G and 5G radio programs
• Solid knowledge on radio systems and mobile networks, especially on 3GPP LTE 4G and 5G standards in RAN and the interface between radio network and core network.
• Full understanding of O-RAN mission and specifications, functional disaggregation, especially the 7.2 Mplane
• Solid experience in context relevant embedded software development and modern development methods and environments
• Knowledge of control and management of network elements using a variety of interfaces, such as NETCONF/YANG, Web APIs, message queues, files and databases
• Function/feature systemization including requirement handling and interface design (API)
• Holistic view and firm understanding of Radio architectures and design for different frequency bands and capabilities. Hardware, middleware, operating systems, FPGA design, RF etc.
• Through and general knowledge of 3GPP RAN specifications and functionality
• Deep knowledge of NR air i/f, and specifically L1 phy and analog radio transmission for NR
• Deep knowledge of principles and available technology for network synchronization
• Worked with Embedded processors i.e. ARM, MIPS and DSP
• Deep knowledge of testing and debugging embedded systems software and Familiar with Comms interfaces - Ethernet / TCP/IP / UDP / SNMP / XML
• Excellent inter-personal and leadership skills
• High learning agility and ability to quickly grasp and adapt to new technologies and concepts.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent presentation skills for a variety of audiences including executives, partners, and customers
• Curious minded person striving for continuos learning and innovation

• B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech/BS/MS Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
• 15+ years’ experience in telecommunication industry in leading of or working in development roles
