Background


Ananya Finance for Inclusive Growth Pvt. Ltd. (www.ananyafinance.com) is an NBFC set up by Friends of Women’s World Banking – India (FWWB) in 2009, with the objective of reaching out to a large section of microfinance institutions (MFIs) and grass root entities. Ananya is one of the responsible NBFCs in India with the commitment to serve socially motivated bottom-line enterprises. The company caters to the microfinance, smallholder farmer financing and enterprises that operate in the impact space. The company has a pan-India presence.


Position Summary


Ananya is looking to appoint its sector specialist who will lead the Renewable Energy Financing vertical. Ananya has a limited exposure to the sector currently accounting for just around 2% of its loan portfolio and the company wishes to increase it to 7%-8% as it grows its overall portfolio size. This will be the company’s first sector specialist hire in this sector and while it is at present a sales & business development role, it holds the potential to grow into the vertical head and P&L owner for this line of business.

Job Description


1) Business Development: Sourcing of new clients in the Renewable Energy sector

2) Relationship Management: Maintaining cordial and formal relationship with all existing and new partners, follow-up with partners on various aspects like compliance with sanction conditions, repayments, loan documentation etc.

3) Achievement of Business Plan: Help the Renewable Energy financing vertical prepare a business plan, adhere to business plan, maintain a pipeline of proposals to ensure effective utilization of funds

4) Preliminary Appraisal of Potential Borrowers: Basic financial analysis, inspection of field operations and documents, third-party reference checks, desk appraisal

5) Delinquency Management: Minimize delays and delinquency in loan portfolio, get early warning signals and follow-up with clients

6) Market Intelligence: Analysis of macro level climatic, economic, geographical & political risks and understanding of the regulatory regime in the Renewable Energy sector

7) Any other tasks related to credit assessment / portfolio management as assigned by the company from time to time.


Qualification and other skills requirements


1) Graduate / Post-graduate / Professional (Preferably CA or MBA)

2) Minimum of 5 years of sales & business development experience with a good understanding of credit underwriting of enterprises in the renewable energy financing space.

3) Proven track record in prospecting and converting leads into profitable business relationships. An inherent “hunter” mentality and lead generation capability with the ability to quickly identify and qualify sales opportunities to build and maintain a pipeline for new business

4) Sharp financial analysis skills coupled with a strong understanding of credit assessment, Early Warning systems and delinquency management

5) Willingness to undertake extensive travel to meet the sourcing and underwriting requirements
