At Cadence, we hire and develop leaders and innovators who want to make an impact on the world of technology.

Cadence is seeking a talented, creative, and energetic Marketing Editor II / Senior Editor to help us develop marketing materials that are compelling, well written, and engaging. As part of our fast-paced Corporate Marketing team, the Marketing Editor is responsible for the developmental editing of high-quality and impactful customer-facing, technology-focused marketing materials. The role also requires a strong understanding of what it takes to edit technical copy, ensuring consistency and accuracy while maintaining the Cadence brand voice and content standards.

The ideal candidate will have a background as a technical editor, developmental editor, or technical publications copyeditor, capable of editing—and sometimes rewriting—technology-focused marketing content to produce clear, concise customer material. Experience in the semiconductor or electronic design automation (EDA) industries is a plus. A keen eye for editorial consistency, solid writing/rewriting skills, and an ability to repurpose copy to fit the needs of multiple audiences are essential qualities. At the same time, the position also requires the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and occasionally meet same-day turnarounds.

The role reports to the senior marketing manager of Content Services, part of the Corporate Marketing group, and is key to creating persuasive and compelling content that influences, educates, and engages target audiences important to Cadence.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working as part of the Content Services team to develop content in a wide variety of formats and media (press releases, product datasheets, conference presentations, web pages, white papers, success stories, emails, event signage, social media, ads, etc.) for a variety of audiences while staying consistent to corporate and product messaging
  • Editing, rewriting, and repurposing content copy to be clear, concise, consistent, and on-brand throughout all Cadence customer-facing communications
  • Learning, understanding, and advising on Cadence product names, corporate writing style, brand messaging, inclusive language, and use of industry terminology
  • Following the end-to-end content development process from ideation and messaging to copywriting, editing, and revisions, to quality assurance and final production
  • Engaging with technical colleagues to encourage, assist, and guide the development of clearly written marketing content
  • Communicating and coordinating regularly with Cadence colleagues in the integrated marketing, public relations, executive communications, demand marketing, brand marketing, and digital marketing functions, as well as with Cadence business unit teams

Position Requirements

  • A very strong command of written American English grammar, usage, diction, and spelling
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, or similar certification or experience, in journalism, communications, marketing, PR, English, or related field
  • At least five years of professional experience as a technical editor, developmental editor, or technical publications copyeditor for a B2B technology company or similar
  • Strong familiarity with both Chicago Style and AP Style, as well as the ability to follow and contribute to a corporate style
  • Exceptional ability to rewrite for clarity and conciseness
  • Strong detail orientation and time management skills to triage projects and meet deadlines
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Jira software
