The Principal Application Engineer (AE) will provide direct technical customer support for Cadence Celsius Thermal Solver and related electro-thermal co-simulation products and will focus on applying technical expertise in multiple products within the Sigrity, Clarity, Numeca and Celsius technology families. The person should be able to act as strong team member and contributor, participate in team projects and initiatives.
The candidate should have expert knowledge and be high skilled with thermo-mechanical design, applied and computational fluid dynamics (CFD), with experience in handling few of Celsius toolset or other Electrical-thermal tools from Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools to assist thermal engineers with high capacity dense electronic designs and extraction of temperature and power maps of PCB/Packages at any stage of the design process, with varying design types, different industries and targeting different production materials.
Master’s degree in Thermo-Mechanical/Electronic Engineering with 7 to 12 years related experience is required. Knowledge of CAD tools in Mechanical/Electrical design with strong background in Electronic System and PCB Product Design, Thermal Design and Analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Thermal System design fundamentals related to Package and PCB Design is required. Candidate should have experience in Celsius platform tools including: PowerDC, PowerSI, Numeca toolset or competitive tools like Icepak/FloTHERM in these areas.

The person should possess team-success orientation, mature work attitude, and good judgment under pressure.

He should have completed B. Tech or M. Tech (preferred), PhD (a plus)

Essential Duties include:

• Provide Customer Support and training on the usage of Celsius thermal solvertoolset and related Multiphysics System Analysissoftware products from Cadence for customers with high level of satisfaction.
• Help the customers in the increase of productivity, debug complex issues and provide solutions in the implementation of Celsius and CFD software in their design methodologies.
• Working closely with R&D and Engineering to identify and prioritize the product improvement initiatives through formal methods and help in the customer adoption.
• Consult and understand the innovative design needs from customers and communicate with internal teams
• Debug complex issues and suggest workarounds for customer for them to proceed in their design cycle phases.
• Guiding in the Creation and Creating high impact knowledge article content, tool adoption kits and other high-level documents to increase the self-help of customers.
• Mentoring and training of juniors in the Support Process and procedures, in EDA software and design methodologies as required
