The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all mechanical equipment and machinery in the wood working factory. The goal is to ensure maximum uptime of the equipment and minimize downtime by implementing effective preventive maintenance practices. This position plays a key role in the implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM).Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair all mechanical equipment and machinery in the wood working factory, including DSPs, CNC machines, Saws, Routers, Molders, Sanding & spray painting tools & other equipment. Develop and implement Preventive Maintenance programs for all machinery and equipment to minimize downtime and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues, repair or replace defective parts, and perform necessary adjustments to ensure proper equipment function. Coordinate with other maintenance and production staff to ensure timely and effective maintenance of all equipment and machinery. Monitor and report on equipment performance, including uptime, downtime, and maintenance costs, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Work with production and engineering teams to identify and implement equipment upgrades and improvements. Develop and maintain accurate maintenance records, including work orders, equipment history, and parts inventory. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and best practices for the operation and maintenance of equipment and machinery. Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance the reliability and effectiveness of equipment and machinery.
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the wood working industry.
  • Exposure to the use of maintenance management software and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), CNC machines, saws, routers etc. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
