The Chief Digital Transformation Office (CDTO) offers an opportunity to shape and drive VMware’s Digital Transformation to enable Operations to scale and support VMware’s growth.

We are part of CXS – Customer eXperience and Success engineering team responsible for accelerating digital transformation of VMware’s GTM, Customer experience businesses by providing technical leadership to implementing scalable technical solutions for the critical business initiatives.

We are on an initiative to help expand VMware’s global support business by providing appropriate tools that will lay foundation for SAAS offerings thereby improving the business process efficiency and effectiveness.

This Member of Technical Staff – Salesforce role provides a unique opportunity to grow your career by deepening your product engineering expertise and providing requirement design opportunities. You will have opportunities to participate in requirement design discussions with product owners, by presenting data and valuable points of consideration to resolve problems. This implementation experience is critical for anyone with a passion in product engineering looking to broaden their technical acumen.

Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

  • Within 30 days of employment, become competent with VMware’s global support and service business process and implementation.
  • Within 60 days of employment, implementing technical solutions using industry best practices and contribute to developing product for the Salesforce Service Cloud implementation using Lightning/Aura/LWC frameworks.
  • You will work closely with architects and product owners to design and implement right level of non-functional needs such as quality, scalability, performance, flexibility, modularity, maintainability etc.
  • Develop prototypes for new foundational product capabilities.
  • Research Salesforce.com capabilities, new features as needed to suit business requirements

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

Required Skills:

  • Hands-on Salesforce application development experience salesforce Lightning and Aura Framework.
  • Architectural understanding of end-to-end salesforce platform.
  • Capture, Design and implement solution for both custom and standard.
  • Actively participate and work with business teams and service owners to understand and document technical requirements for projects, enhancements/ features.
  • Should possess debugging skills and testing skills.
  • Independent self-motivated, ability to learn on the job.
  • Strong Salesforce Apex Programming skills, LWC frameworks.
  • Strong Lightning Component and Web Component Development experience.
  • Deep understanding in Service Cloud implementation with Knowledge Management.
  • Coveo Search experience with Salesforce communities is highly desirable.
  • implement and integrate Coveo AI Cloud solutions that change the digital experience for our employees and customers.
  • Solid experience and very strong coding skills with JavaScript, Typescript, Python, and HTML/CSS. C# and Java are a plus.
  • Data normalization and field mapping concepts with deep understanding with Search indexing capabilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Working knowledge on Scrum and Agile development methodologies and using JIRA tool.
  • Working experience with globally distributed development teams.
  • Salesforce DX and CI/CD processes with Gitlab is preferred.
  • Salesforce Developer and Advanced Developer Certifications are highly preferred.
  • Salesforce Service Cloud Consultant Certification is preferred.

What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?

You will be joining the CXS engineering team responsible for accelerating digital transformation of VMware’s Customer experience businesses by providing technical leadership to implementing scalable technical solutions for the critical business initiatives. The global team is spread throughout VMware offices including Palo Alto, CA, Boston, MA, Cork Ireland and Bangalore, IN.

This role will be reporting to the Sr. Manager, IT Business Application who is responsible for salesforce service cloud instance and drives technical side of transformational business programs on Lightning framework of force.com. The team structure is flat with access to all the leaders and their teams. We expect you to take advantage of this diverse work culture to develop yourself into a senior technical member who will execute future state technical vision with end-to-end ownership.
