Principal Software Engineer - Cybersecurity


  • The Mission of this Role:

To design, develop and deliver high-quality software with a high level of productivity. Responsible for mentoring and guiding other team members to elevate their performance.

  • Scope:

Responsible for architectural design and creating high-level and detailed design specifications, converting them into code. Supports implementation and functional/integrated testing, additionally guides the team to meet deliverables.

Understands and decodes software requirements for development, converts them into component architecture and design for varying complexity levels.

Uses novel design approaches to leverage on benefits of a common architecture for different vehicle lines with slightly varying customer requirements.

Coding and development

Converting the design into efficient code using high level of coding language proficiency, while also guiding other team members.

Leads the development of features/functions with the scrum team.

Implementation and testing

Responsible for the implementation and unit-level testing of components developed. Works on defect resolution to fix identified defects in existing systems or the future release as an enhancement.

Works to identify and implement test methodologies at unit /integration/functional level.

Works to provide a quick turnaround for reported defects with the necessary documentation.

  • Key Experience required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Master’s preferred)
  • 10+ years of automotive software development
  • Excellent proficiency in the software languages required (Ex: C, C++, Java, etc…)
  • Knowledge of automotive and domain features and different functions, systems
  • Familiarity with DevOps process, tools and methodologies
  • Good knowledge of software development life cycle
  • Experienced in handling multiple projects simultaneously to completion
  • Familiarity in Continuous improvement and build process
  • Experienced in Agile/SCRUM terminologies
  • Good understanding of autospice process to guide others
