Your role ensures financial performance through strategic analysis and optimal resource allocation in order to reimaging cancer across 70 countries.

The Management Reporting Group is responsible to drive the Novartis Group’s management reporting strategy in close alignment with Group ERP, ensuring delivery of best in class solutions to Novartis Management, allowing efficient analyses of the business performance and delivering on the Novartis Group objectives of Innovation, Growth, and Productivity.

This job requires a combination of solid accounting background, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), and reporting system understanding.

The role of the Assistant Manager – Analytics will be to provide support of already developed applications that FRA Ops (CTS/Group) has designed, built, and is maintaining (e.g. Insight, CCM, BSA, T&E Advanced Analytics, Aladdin, etc.). S/He will also have the responsibility to deliver the required customer support. S/He should enable the organization to manage financial and reporting deadlines and drive productivity via reporting and planning excellence, supporting users to throughout the organization when required.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • To provide expert advice to superiors for Financial Reporting & Accounting and manage the reporting and accounting requirements for the general ledger; to ensure compliance with external and internal accounting reporting requirements in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Work with direct managers to support financial activities, decision making and general projects. Provide timely, proactive support on the general ledger.
  • Maintain accurate and timely fixed asset information in the fixed asset register including assets under construction and depreciation calculations. Prepare analysis or reporting with particular emphasis on accuracy, compliance and timeliness of data provided (i.e.: reports on profit and loss activity).Provide all data needed for internal (Financial Consolidation and Reporting System) and external reporting (including statutory accounts, national statistics and tax information) in a timely and accurate manner. Provides ‘first line support’ on SAP issues including fixed assets, cash and general ledger.
  • Contribute to FRA projects at country or BU level. Major Accountabilities
  • Manage the day-to-day Reporting and Analytics of the management reporting systems (Financial and Non-financial), in a timely and accurate manner, meeting all business time-lines and information/analytic needs.Perform Reporting and Analytics activities on all supported tools, spanning across multiple locations
  • Promptly handle stakeholder management and interactions with GSO, Countries, FRA LT, etc. Cooperate with Divisional IT resource allocation to maintain tools and systems.
  • Ensure continuous system availability across all time zones through process optimization and teamwork.
  • Handle projects on management reports and responsible for the production & distribution of compliance and controls monitoring reports defined for the entities covered in the scope, ensuring compliance with agreed policies, SLAs, output quality & defined conven-tions / standards.
  • Support internal customers to effectively analyze business performance and recommend areas for improvement and operationalize robust standard processes supported by tools and systems, reflecting best practices, supported by a control framework
  • Support FRA Ops (CTS/Group) in providing timely reports to monitor Operational stability, internal controls and compliance (eg: NFCM Controls, process performance KPIs, Financial Controls and Compliance reviews, etc.)
  • Minimum Requirements

    What you’ll bring to the role:
    • CA/MBA (Finance) or Equivalent/University Degree ideally in accounting, finance, or economics
    • Minimum of 6-9 years working experience with MBA (Finance) or Equivalent/University Degree OR minimum of 4-7 years post qualification working experience for CA, in performance management systems, financial reporting and analysis or financial planning and analysis roles in a multinational organization
    • Knowledge of financial consolidation principles necessary, dealing with multiple currencies and FX scenarios. Must have expert knowledge in O2C & TCM processes and KPI’s.
    • Excellent analytical ability with experience of creation and discussion of financial performance KPIs
    • Experience with SAP BW, SAP BPC, Qlik Sense and advance excel and MS-Office applications is must
