Job Title: Specialist – Trade Execution, Bunge Business Services Mohali, India

Reporting: Reports directly to Team lead / Execution Manager

Shift Timing: 12:30 PM - 9:30 PM

Job Purpose

The Executive is responsible to execute shipments/vessels and ensure flawless execution of commodity trade contracts, which services the Asia Pacific operations for Bunge Group. In addition, the Executive is also responsible for supporting Officers in transaction processing & issue resolution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow-up and gather information on shipment to be executed - vessel selection and confirmation from the Business Team
  • Perform vessel screening to ensure compliance as per Bunge Global guidelines – Review of reports, Check availability of vessel charter party agreement, vessel certificates and others
  • Gather information on contracts nominated on the vessel to be executed from the Business Team
  • Reconcile trader’s spreadsheet and contracts filed in system for contracts allocated
  • Update vessel nomination details to Sellers and Buyers (counterparties)
  • Follow-up and get conformance on vessel nomination from counterparties
  • Strong knowledge in container shipment execution & documentation.
  • Experience in container booking.
  • Request the Business Team to nominate surveyors and load port agents for the vessel
  • Monitor loading/discharge operations and coordinate with surveyors and load port agents
  • Send regular updates to Buyers on the vessel/Container status
  • Update and maintain vessel master status files
  • Create contract vessel and parcel in SAP system
  • Nominate purchase/sales contracts in SAP system
  • Timely execute & settle purchase/sales contracts in SAP system
  • Preparation of documents for vessel execution, and submission to internal and external stakeholders and banks for payment collection.
  • Receive freight and purchase invoices from sellers and forward it to co-workers (Finance team) for payments processing
  • Perform calculation for demurrage/detention and unplanned expenses
  • Identify and forward debit/credit note requests to co-workers (Finance team) for processing with required approvals from the Business Team
  • Negotiate Letters of Credit and Prepare shipping documents

Additional responsibilities:
  • Resolve execution related queries within defined timelines
  • Review and support Officers in trade execution of shipments/vessels and trade contracts
  • Provide reports and run queries to assist the Finance Team in period end closing process
  • Identify ideas for process improvement utilizing industry leading practices
  • Handle exceptions generated, perform root cause analysis to resolve current issues and act proactively to avert potential issues in future
  • Provide all information, documents and reports for audit. Post the audit; take steps as per corrective action plan drafted by the Team Leader.
  • File and archive relevant documents

Knowledge And Experience

Essential:
  • 5-6 years of work experience in a similar role
  • Relevant experience in handling bulk veg oil shipments comprising of soft oils and palm oils, with good knowledge of FOSFA & GAFTA contracts’ rules
  • Minimum Education Qualification – Graduation. Post-graduation would be an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of concepts and procedures related to shipment of trade commodities and related terms & guidelines, including expertise in Letters of credit and shipping documents
  • Ability to provide high quality level of customer service to internal & external stakeholders involved in contract execution & settlement
  • Ability to work independently, efficiently and deliver high quality output under time pressure
  • Independent and meticulous with figures
  • Strong written & oral communications skills in English. Knowledge of European languages added advantage.
  • Strong problem solving & organization skills
  • Experience in managing people and processes through a sustained period of change
  • Excellent computer skills and competency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience in working with SAP system
