Location: Palghar – Maharashtra

Offered CTC: 3.6L (Note: The offered CTC is negotiable based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and skills.)

Industry Preference: Sheet Metal Industry, preferably from clean room or cold room panel/door making.

Job Summary:

The Purchase Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and managing the procurement process within the sheet metal industry, with a preference for experience in panel/door making. This role involves sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials and components required for production, ensuring timely availability of resources while optimizing costs and maintaining low rejection rates.

Key Result Areas:

1. Vendor Management:

· Identify and develop a reliable supplier network for sheet coils, sheet metal materials, components, and other procurement needs.

· Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost-effectiveness, and delivery reliability.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure favourable terms and conditions.

2. Sourcing and Procurement:

· Source and procure sheet metal materials, parts, and components according to production requirements.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand material needs and specifications.

· Obtain competitive quotations and negotiate pricing, terms, and lead times with suppliers.

3. Purchase Order Management:

· Generate and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with technical specifications and company policies.

· Monitor order fulfilment and track delivery schedules to prevent production delays.

· Resolve any issues or discrepancies with orders and deliveries.

4. Cost Optimization:

· Continuously analyse market trends and conduct cost-benefit analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities.

· Implement strategies to reduce procurement costs while maintaining product quality.

5. Inventory Management:

· Monitor inventory levels and consumption patterns to optimize stock levels and avoid overstocking or shortages.

· Coordinate with production and planning teams to align procurement with production schedules.

6. Quality Assurance:

· Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure purchased materials meet required quality standards.

· Address and resolve quality-related issues with suppliers to maintain product integrity.

7. Documentation and Reporting:

· Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, contracts, and vendor performance.

· Generate regular reports on procurement metrics, cost savings, and vendor performance for management review.

8. Compliance and Ethics:

· Ensure procurement activities adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.

· Monitor and manage potential risks related to supply chain disruptions or changes in market conditions.

Qualifications and Experience:

· B.E/Diploma in Mechanical/Production or related field.

· Minimum 3-4 years of experience in procurement, preferably within the sheet metal industry, with a focus on panel/door making.

Soft skill sets:

· Strong understanding of procurement processes, vendor management, and negotiation techniques.

· Proficiency in Reading engineering drawings and work through BOM.

· Proficiency in using procurement software and tools.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.

· Problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.

· Knowledge of quality control and assurance processes in procurement.

· Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and compliance standards.
