Job Description Summary The Senior Validation engineer for Loads is responsible for validating the functions and performance of wind turbines to ensure they all meet the requirements. Support Co- Simulation of gathered data will complete the model validation process for new product certification. Other responsibilities are specific tests for components or sub-systems to understand the behavior, performance, and structural fatigue in operation. This role will manage the test equipment and coordinate the schedule for the field validation as well as analysis and reporting.Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Coordination with cross functional teams and third party to build up the test plan, arrange the test equipment and execute testing.
  • Lead the team for the sensor mounting and data acquisition system, collect data in routine rhythm
  • Manage test campaigns to ensure the successful execution of the validation plan, report out if any potential risks
  • Develop strategy to increase tools and process efficiency
  • Review data and ensure it is correct
  • Setup of simulation models and lead co-simulation including comparison to test data.
  • Structural fatigue analysis for different components
  • Reporting and communication to certification bodies
  • Interpret abnormal data and troubleshooting
  • Conduct the loads data analysis, and present the results to internal stakeholders
  • Lead Validation Engineer (Acoustic & Dynamics)

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor or above degree in Mechanical Engineering or comparable engineering discipline with renewable energy experience.
  • Proven experience in wind turbine loads measurement set-up, data calibration and data analysis according to IEC 61400-13
  • Understanding and Experience in structural fatigue analysis
  • Knowledge of Strain, Pressure, Temperature, and displacement measuring systems is required
  • Wind turbine system knowledge
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Positive mindset with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional and global environment, flexibility of working hours with global sites
  • Self-motivated, and willing to travel when testing requires it.

DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:

  • 10+ years of wind engineering experience
  • Strong analytical approach to problem solving
  • Demonstrated ability to document, plan, and execute multiple program deliverables
  • Data handling and analysis experience with different data formats and various tools like FAMOS or MATLAB
  • Knowledge of Wind turbine load simulation model validation
