Primary Job Function

The Manager Clinical Resources supports the efficient and compliant planning and execution of Clinical Research activities according to the agreed budget and timelines. Through data driven analytics the Manager Clinical Resources supports and drives decision making on the optimal utilization of available resources and the right sourcing strategy for clinical deliverable

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Provide data driven assumptions to support capacity planning and decision making on sourcing strategies for Clinical Research activities.
  • Provide data analytics to support the evaluation of efficiency and performance in clinical study delivery and supports improvement initiatives
  • Assume budget oversight responsibility across the global Clinical Research study portfolio
  • Management of external vendor relationship with in- and outsourcing provider(s) for assigned vendors and lead optimization (cost, efficiency, quality) of preferred vendor relationships
  • Lead collaboration with procurement in selection and contracting process for Outsourced activities
  • Provide ball park cost estimates for potential clinical research activities to feed in business case for new opportunities

Position Accountability / Scope:

• Internal stakeholders Clinical Development and Medical Affairs team, Quality Assurance, Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory Affairs, Office of Ethics and Compliance, global, regional and local • External stakeholders business partners (contractors, consultants, vendors)

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor / Master of Science in a field related to life sciences or equivalent by experience

Experience:

  • At least 10+ year experience in Clinical / Medical Affairs Operations in a CRO or pharmaceutical company, of which at least 3 years as Clinical Trial Manager managing Global clinical studies
  • Candidate should be very well familiar withdata systems and analysis/interpretation of data for resourcing and budgeting
  • Experience in analyzing KPIs and reports from dashboards and presenting to senior management,allocation of resources and budget provisions in general.
  • Should be very familiar with budgeting and resourcing terms and has experience with in-sourcing and outsourcing models, by performing FTE calculations vs performance
  • Experience with working in a Global fast paced environment
  • Experience with developing and managing clinical study budgets
  • Experience with the management of external vendors
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross functional teams acceptable
  • Proven Project Management skills
  • Expert in MS office applications especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Fluent in English
