The Software Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing a team regarding various software programs, databases and coding. Provides oversight on the design and development of software applications. Ensures that each process is completed efficiently, and that the proper analyses are being performed with the software.
General Responsibilities
  • Handles the software systems development function, including the design, development, troubleshooting, and debugging of software programs for software enhancements and new products including cloud-based or internet-related tools
  • Supervises the development of software and software tools used for design, infrastructure, and platforms, including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, and databases
  • Supervises the hardware compatibility and/or hardware design

Experience / Qualifications
  • A university degree and 5-7 years of experience
  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop team members
  • Holds self and others accountable to achieving goals and standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
  • 7 + years post-university industrial experience

  • University degree in Electronics, Software or a related engineering discipline

  • Experience of Software configuration using Vector tool chain and integration on AUTOSAR based software architecture

  • Board bring up and MCAL integration experience

  • E xperience of UDS ISO14229 diagnostics configuration of DEM/DCM modules

  • Experience of Bootloader integration and configuration

  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills with good understanding of system development methodologies, techniques and tools

  • Project experience of ASIL-A/B following ISO26262 process

  • Development of ECUs for automotive CAN buses. J1939 an advantage

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team and deliver results

  • Depth of technical skills to effectively lead your team and critique their work

  • Excellent project coordination, communication and decision-making skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Desire to make a significant impact in a high growth environment

  • Energetic, collaborative, self-motivated and autonomous

  • Willingness to travel as required to global Sensata and customer sites
