JOB SUMMARY



Works as a member of the Global Contracts group of the SPX FLOW legal department to support the contract review, drafting and negotiating needs of SPX FLOW. While this position would be based in the Pune office (Maharashtra/India), it is envisioned to support SPX FLOW’s global activities. This position reports into the Assistant General Counsel, Global Contracts.


PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Works closely with members of the legal department and commercial, engineering, operational and leadership teams on drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts, including customer, supplier and non-disclosure agreements.
  • Assess, draft, and negotiate contractual terms and conditions with both customers and suppliers.
  • Partner with the sales and procurement teams with respect to commercial transactions and assist with customer-facing negotiations.
  • Determine appropriate contractual mechanisms for security for payments where required, e.g. guarantees and letters of credit from customers and suppliers.
  • Provide contractual input with respect to internal risk reviews and risk mitigation plans, as well as the internal approval process.
  • Participate in initiatives to digitize and improve contract related processes.
  • From time to time, provide support with respect to general legal matters such as compliance, corporate and employment.

  • Strong skills in analysis, drafting and negotiation of contract conditions.
  • The ability to add value to internal risk reviews and support the operations part of the business in any post contract/execution issues.
  • Ability to communicate with internal and external clients around the world in an effective and culturally sensitive manner.
  • Understanding of processes and risks in manufacturing of process equipment and plant construction.
  • Proven track record of meeting commitments with the highest standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Pro-active approach to work and results oriented.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE



Required

  • Bachelor of Law (LLB)
  • At least four years of progressively more responsible experience with commercial contracts in a corporate environment. Experience in manufacturing, process equipment and/or plant construction is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of laws and regulations impacting SPX FLOW.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing globally within all levels of SPX FLOW.
  • Ability to utilize creative problem resolution skills to handle client related problems.
  • Ability to be forward thinking and handle frequently changing demands.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills are essential.
