Designation - Technician

Department - Physiotherapy

Qualification - MPT

Experience - 0-3 Years

Key Responsibilities:

  • To be responsible for maintaining accurate and comprehensive patient treatment records in line with the organizational standards and practice
  • To carry out physiotherapy assessment and treatment for acute patients, case management, deliver functional restoration programmes (FRP) to individuals with all conditions and deliver health promotion programmes.
  • To undertake an assessment of patients, using clinical reasoning skills and manual, assessment techniques to provide a physiotherapy diagnosis of their condition with appropriate support from senior physiotherapist or team leader to formulate prognosis and recommend best course of intervention.
  • To evaluate a patients’ progress, reassess and alter treatment programmes and Use outcome measures to demonstrate treatment effect.
  • Write reports as per standards and guidelines.
  • Oversee the upkeep of accurate records in line with best practice
  • Balancing day to day workload on the absence of peers as per department manager guideline and undertaking the assessment and treatment of acutely ill patients with multiple pathologies.
  • To undertake other delegated work as assigned by department Manager.
  • To cover all the departments on rotational basis which will be as per department manager guidance
  • Promote a culture that values diversity and respect in the workplace.
  • Inform the Physiotherapy Manager of staff issues (needs, interests, views) as appropriate
  • To manage clinical risk within own patient caseload.
  • Applies Risk Assessment principles to clinical practice
  • Good team working skills combined with understanding of and commitment to multidisciplinary working.

Managing Resources:

  • To be responsible for the safe and competent use of all equipment and to take any necessary initial action if equipment is thought to be unsafe,
  • To assist as required with the management of ordering any physiotherapy equipment specific to the area of work.

Policy and service development:

  • Works in accordance with the ISO, NABH and JCIA standards.
  • Follows strict infection control protocols and takes responsibility in ensuring quality control related to quality monitors
  • To be involved with development of departmental policies and procedures, and to be involved in reviweing and updating as appropriate in clinical area.

Education and training

  • To have service training and clinical reasoning sessions, peer reviews, case conferences, and clinical topic or patient based presentations to other staff.
  • To be responsible for maintaining own competency to practice through CPD activities, and maintain a portfolio which reflects personal development.
  • Participate in the staff performance review scheme as an appraisee and be responsible for complying with your agreed personal development programmes to meet set knowledge and competencies.
  • Be an active member of the in‐service training programme by attendance at, and participation in, in‐service training programmes, tutorials, individual training sessions, external courses and peer review. Following external courses it is expected that you will share reflective – practice.

Research:

  • To be involved in the measurement and evaluation of your work and current practices through the use of evidence based practice projects, audit and outcome measures, and make recommendations for change.

Management:

  • To include the planning and prioritisation of caseload and the local systems in place to deal with the administration tasks such as booking appointments, telephone calls, chasing up records, results etc.
  • To demonstrate a sound understanding of clinical governance and risk management and application in work situations.
  • Demonstrate coordination and flexibility in the management of the daily work load

In terms of revenue, we are USD 1.14 Bn company in which India contributes 17% and rest by GCC as of FY’19. Going forward we are also venturing into Pathology business (Aster Labs) by April’2020 n Pharmacy business in Jan ’21 apart from 3 new hospitals in next 3 years in India.
We have Centre of Excellence across various specialties like Neurosciences, Cardiac Sciences, Integrated Liver Care, Orthopaedics, Onco, Gastro, Nephro, etc. in most of our hospitals. In summary, most of our hospitals are tertiary and quaternary care setups. Kerala with 4 hospitals and 1 educational institute forms a cluster, Bangalore with 2 hospitals + 1 hospital in Kolhapur forms another cluster and Andhra+Telangana another cluster.
