Job Purpose

The scope of the role is centred around assigned project and, driving productivity improvement with excellent engineering skills. Responsibilities include prioritizing, planning and execution of project activities with focus on quality and innovation

Principal Accountabilities (A)

Technical Management

Understands requirements
  • Understands and interprets the technical requirements as per the project specification and checklists
  • Ensures to have awareness of local and international standards as well as those required by the customer
Skill development and contribution
  • Keeps abreast of the technical skills/knowledge required for the role and shares knowledge with the team. Provides input to enhance team productivity
  • Responsible to contribute to presentation, demonstration to the potential customers and to publish technical papers under the guidance of Project Lead/Project Manager
Technical solution generation
  • Responsible to analyse the issues/challenges in day-to-day tasks and propose/support development of solutions in consultation with Project Lead/Project Manager
  • Accountable to provide error free deliverables to agreed specifications, within the assigned time/effort estimated/planned
Innovation
  • Responsible to identify opportunities to create new concepts/solutions, optimizing existing features in area of work and consult Project Lead/Project Manager for implementing the same

Project Management

Project planning and execution
  • Responsible to manage, maintain and monitor the assigned project task according to stipulated standards, practices and milestones
  • Ensures proper communication/escalation to Project Lead/Project Manager where required (e.g. scope change, dependency, risks)
Project review and reporting
  • Accountable to participate in peer reviews as required by the company/customer policy
  • Responsible for timely and prompt progress reporting to Project Lead/Project Manager as per project plan
Risk identification
  • Ensures proper communication with customer to avoid issue escalation as and when required in consultation with Project Lead/Project Manager
  • Responsible to conduct RCA, manage and mitigate/triage the risks/issues in consultation with Project Lead/Project Manager

Process Management

Process/Productivity improvement
  • Contributes to best practices, lessons learnt and knowledge management. Assists implementing them in team for productivity improvement
Quality awareness and compliance
  • Responsible to understand, meet quality standards as required by QMS/project
  • Improves overall quality from lessons learnt from the previous projects
Knowledge

management
  • Responsible to create project documents (like knowledge management document, readme document, issue reproduction, behavioural driven document/test driven document and test pyramid)

People Management (In case handles Team)

Team performance
  • Responsible to provide regular feedback and input to Project Lead/Project Manager on the performance of people reporting to this role
  • Responsible to supervise day-to-day activities of the team and coach team members in technical and domain areas

Technical Focus Areas
  • BS degree in Electronics Engineering Technology (EET) or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of engineering experience, or comparable experience
  • Strong in design and development of new products
  • Proficient in C++ 14 and above, Linux Yocto and Google test framework, Google Buff, TouchGFx
  • Design test scripts and develop test cases to validate the SW requirements.
  • Proficient in documenting SRS, SDD
  • Proficient problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Engineering software
  • Experience in the medical device industry is preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Thrives on change and adapts to leader-initiated changes
  • 2+ years working in cross functional teams consisting of discipline specific engineers, or comparable experience
