About the Role:
We are seeking

full-stack Java and Typescript/REACT developer with cloud-native experience

in our OCI Engineering team.

As a member of the software engineering division, one will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures

. OCI is the next generation cloud service built from the grounds-up to support fast paced application requirements, addressing a wide range of customer use cases. Our team of Cloud Engineers are responsible for the application modernization on OCI. You will be a part of a diverse team working closely with Oracle Sales and leadership to build and expand Customer’s OCI footprint, by effectively engaging with Customer from Pitch-to-Production lifecycle of a Customer workload.

Our Engineers are deep technical domain experts, who are responsible for both explaining and showing how Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure Solutions solve real-world business challenges. They work closely with field Cloud Architects to help craft the solution and then continue to collaborate with the customer on implementation of these solutions.

Work Timings:
Oracle offers flexible ‘work-from-home’ options for our adjusted work shifts of 2PM-11PM IST to accommodate our North American customers and promote work/life balance for all of our diverse employees. Since this is a customer-facing role, we need to make sure that there is adequate time overlap with US time zones to be able to effectively communicate & collaborate with our customers and US Oracle teams. We try to keep the morning IST hours free for our employees so that they can take care of personal family matters and Oracle also offers free home pickup/drop-off car services- via company provided taxi cabs- for our employees as well. Responsibilities include:
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

Good in Java, Java EE, Kubernetes, Typescript, REACT Framework Docker, REST, SOAP, Junit, ouath2, identity management

HTML5/CSS3 development.

Write and review designs with product management, architecture, QA, documentation, and release

.

Provide solution while developing a new or existing products/services/processes.

Troubleshoot bugs and answering implementation questions from customers and the product teams.

Work with product management and customer support to provide input into implementation guides, whitepapers, and knowledge base articles.

Define specifications for new projects and develop software according to the specifications.

Preferred qualifications include:
8+ years of total IT experience having good understanding of cloud design considerations and limitations and its impact on Pricing, predominantly hosting an application on Cloud using Compute Engine, App Engine, Cloud SQL, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage.

Ability to architect for high availability, fail over & disaster recovery in public or hybrid cloud environments.

Prior experience working with container technology such as Docker, version control systems (Github/BitBucket), build management and CI/CD tools (Concourse, Jenkins), and monitoring tools (App Dynamics), Build Tool (Maven, Ant, Gradle), etc.

Experience with infrastructure configuration management tools of or similar to Terraform, Puppet and Chef.

Proficient in modern scripting language (preferably Shell, Perl and Python) for automation of build tasks and JSON. Write infrastructure as code using CloudFormation or similar.

Education and Certification:
Bachelor level or higher degree in Computer Science, CIS, Informatics, Mathematics, Engineering or other relevant subject area.

Cloud Architect Associate certification on any Public Cloud Platform (OCI/AWS/Azure/GCP) is a must

Partners with customers, sales, engineering and product teams to design, demonstrate and deploy Oracle Cloud architectures that address customer business problems. Drives Oracle Cloud customer consumption by accelerating the adoption of Oracle cloud services including discovery, design and deployment.

Engages with strategic customers, builds leadership relationships at multiple levels within organizations in order to design and implement solutions. Works directly with customers to gather requirements, develop architectures and translates business needs into solutions. May implement solutions and ensure successful deployments through code development and scripting. Displays product/application understanding through highly customized presentation demonstrations to customers, and at conferences, and events. Supports customer from Proof of Concept (POC) through production deployment of services via resource configuration, planning, and customer education/training. Creates and distributes technical assets (white papers, solution code, blog posts, and video demonstrations). Serves as a leading contributor for customers and sales on technical cloud solutions and customer success. Identifies gaps and enhancements to influence engineering roadmaps for customer driven features. Leading contributor, may provide direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. May interact with C level. Maintains expertise by staying current on emerging technologies.

Minimum qualifications include: 8 years experience with computer applications and tools required. Ability to travel 50% international and domestic.

Preferred but not required qualifications include: Bachelor of Science-level university degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering from accredited university; and/or relevant 8 years technical experience. Advanced degree in relevant field of studies highly desirable. Expertise in and an in depth and thorough knowledge of competitive and industry knowledge in the field of computer applications and tools; System and application design; Implementation of advanced product features; Project management; Solving technical problems with customers in technical environments; Written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; Needs analysis, positioning, and business justification. 8 years experience and expertise in the clear communication of technical information to others through presentations, demonstrations, written communication and consultative solutioning experience.
