2 Role Definition
  • Surveillance Engineer is typically assigned to work with service quality surveillance / assurance Level 1 Operations activities in an operations organization. Role is to perform the surveillance activities and ensure that all the events on a network get escalated to the relevant function within the stipulated time period for restoration / resolution.

3 Key Responsibilities
  • Service Alarm Monitoring for Mobile Money nodes like Mobile Money Manager, Access Module, Partner Web Server, Customer Web Server Database server, Syslog, RDS, HSM Security.
  • Alarm Management for the assigned Network Services..
  • To do 1st level investigation of alarms & Fault/cause related to system/network problems.
  • Fair knowledge of Level 1 Fault Management for Mobile Money Platform processes like MMM, AM, PWS, CWS, BWS, Syslog, Database Server
  • Ticket Management
  • Fault remedy requiring on site presence is dispatched timely (as per the SLA / KPI) to the field operations organizations
  • Regular follow up on the events with relevant departments working on it as per the MSTOP process
  • Work towards KPI & Balanced Scorecard parameters
  • Work towards the IPM parameters assigned by the Line Manager
  • To ensure Security is implemented and maintained in accordance with Security and Risk Management directives of the organization
  • Adherence to the organizational guidelines & departmental processes & procedures

4 Authority
  • Clearing the first level Network Alarms
  • Creation of Trouble Tickets
  • Ticket updation and routing to the relevant department for further course of action
  • Closure of ticket
  • Follow ups on tickets
  • Access Management of Network Nodes, GUIs (CC & Admin), One TM Remedy

5 Candidate Prerequisites
  • Qualifications: Degree within Telecommunication Engineering/Computer Science/Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • Industry experience: Telecom & I.T.
  • Years of experience: 1-2 years
  • Certifications: Linux Certification shall be an added advantage
  • Technical and/or functional skills: Basic Linux, shell scripting, JAVA, Tomcat, SSH/SCP/SFTP. Basic Knowledge of services and service applications implementation / integration processes along with Access, Core, Transport & Service Network.
  • Good knowledge of Event Management, 1st Level Incident Management, Remote Site Access Control, 1st level legal request execution, 1st Level Assurance support activities, 1st level Customer Support experience.
  • Good technical exposure to alarm management in critical Mobile Money Platform nodes like Mobile Money Manager, Access Module, Partner Web Server, Customer Web Server Database server, Syslog, RDS, HSM Security.
  • Fair knowledge on Linux platform and scripting languages like Pearl & Shell scripting.
  • Leadership skills: Not Applicable
  • Language skills: Proficiency in written / Spoken English & Hindi
