Job Description: Citrix Engineer- Application Packaging

Position Duties/Responsibilities(Indicate in more detail the functions of this specific position )

The position will be responsible for end-to-end application delivery and maintenance responsibility through Citrix XenApp at Bechtel. The candidate will also be required to work closely with other members of the team in creating strategic direction and architecture for enterprise-wide deployments of all XenApp-based applications.

Bechtel leverages Microsoft`s App-V, Citrix Enterprise Layer Manager for application virtualization. The position will be responsible for profiling and packaging applications using the mentioned tools, publishing applications in the XenApp environment, and supporting deployed applications. This includes Citrix XenApp, Xen Desktop, Storefront, Desktop Director, Profile servers, Microsoft App-V, PowerShell.

Willing to work on flexible shifts. Shift timings are subject to change are as per job requirements.

Skill Proficiency Level

App-V 5x Primary Skill - Advanced

Scripting, VB, PowerShell Primary Skill - Advanced

XenApp 7x Primary Skill - Advanced

Citrix Enterprise Layer Manager (ELM) Added skill (good to have)

Other Remarks/Qualifications ( Indicate any skills not available in the SAP Skills Catalog along with the appropriate proficiency levels)

Basic Qualification

Recognized degree in Computer Science or Information Technology from an accredited college or university, or specialized courses in networking, information technology, server administration, and infrastructure operations, or equivalent work experience in a related field.

Additional Requirements

3+ years of relevant experience for Grade 23 and 5+ Years for Grade 24

In At Least One Of The Following Fields

Strong technical implementation skills in Citrix Technologies
  • Experience in installing and configuring XenApp 7.x server farms
  • Troubleshooting application performance-related issues
  • Experience with Citrix Machine Creation Services (MCS)
  • Ability to configure and support Citrix XenDesktop based VDI environment
  • Basic understanding of load balancing technologies like NetScaler and F5
  • Experience with managing user roaming profiles
Experience In Managing Large Scale Enterprise Infrastructure Technologies
  • Active Directory
  • Group Policy Objects
  • DNS
  • WINS
  • Windows server operating systems 2012 and above
  • DFS /R
Technical Skills On Application Packaging
  • Implementing application virtualization using Microsoft App-V 5x.
  • VB and PowerShell Scripting skills to create and customize software and update packages as per enterprise requirements.
  • Person will be expected to learn Citrix Enterprise Layer Manager (ELM).
  • Application compatibility analysis using Citrix AppDNA
  • Excellent technical communication, writing, meeting facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work well in groups
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules, and priorities
Must be able to work in a team environment and perform routine as well as technical tasks.
