Position Overview

Bechtel is currently seeking a Sr. Network Analyst to join the Global Core Network Services team. The Global Core Network Services team manages Network products and technologies deployed at globally dispersed Datacenters, offices, and project sites. Along with teammates, the Network analyst /Engineers acts as third or fourth level technical support providing specialized assistance and planning guidance to other Bechtel organizations and Projects. Members work closely with peer organizations within other areas of Bechtel’s global IT group on the development and testing of infrastructure and workload management systems.

Position Duties And Responsibilities
  • Designs, documents, monitors, and deploys global network.
  • Selects appropriate network components based on current standards, determines, and recommends appropriate bandwidth and network technologies, implements changes to the global network that meets Bechtel Project Requirements, and conforms to existing network and Security Architectures.
  • Performs specific tasks while utilizing established information technology standards and methods. Works with client to define timeframe requirements.
  • Responds to customers’ needs, questions and concerns in an accurate, effective, and timely manner and expedites corrective actions.
  • May contact other personnel in IS&T, other Bechtel functions and/or projects, and selected users to gather or provide information on specialized information technology related activities.
  • Must have a strong curiosity and passion about learning new technologies.
  • Excellent time management and follow up skills with a strong sense of urgency while making sure all set targets are met.
  • Utilize all appropriate methods, procedures, tools, equipment, and standards effectively to complete projects and tasks.


Basic Qualifications
  • Recognized Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology from an accredited college or university, or specialized courses in network/telecommunications.
  • 8+ years’ experience as a Network Engineer /Administrator in Globally deployed state of the art Network infrastructure which involves Switching, Routing, SDWAN’s, Firewalls, Wireless from multi-vendor technologies (Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Palo Alto, SilverPeak etc.)
  • 6+ years of Network Infrastructure work experience/Hands-on knowledge of Switching, Routing technologies.
  • Certification: CCNA / CCNP / JNCIA


Additional Information
  • Understanding of TCP, IP, Ethernet, Wireless LAN, IPSec VPN, SSL mesh and non-mesh WAN topologies, etc.
  • Experience with protocols such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPLS, IPSEC, GRE and other networking protocols in a multi-vendor environment.
  • Understanding of Cloud-based Network infrastructure to support the LAN (Wired, Wireless), WAN, Acceleration and Firewalls
  • Provide solutions to complex LAN, WAN requirements and problems
  • Experience on advanced technologies such as Encryption, QoS/CoS, policy-based routing, 802.1x, WPA2, 802.11
  • Technical writing skills, express technical material incisively both in writing and via diagrams. Experience using Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Word to clearly articulate ideas and document procedures.
  • Familiarity with ITIL terminology and practices
