About Our Client

The client is one of the largest global food manufacturing companies with a large scale operations in India and South East Asia.

Job Description

  • Develop and communicate the Project SHE Management Plan and ensure its effective implementation. Monitor site safety standards, implement leading indicaotrs such as lead contractor field audits, recognize good safety performance and address poor safety performance. Responsible for all safety related legal compliances. Responsible for timely reporting of incidents and implementation of corrective and preventive action plans. Communicate with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with State and central Safety legislation and all applicable Nestlé Safety standards and relevant in all steps of project management cycle , project Specific established standards and principles by ensuring SHE is integrated into project planning, operational reviews, design-for-construction, and contractor management. Ensure all activities of project cycle (Project IPM) completed on time. Safety Compliance aspects lies with process engineering, Utility engineering and civil engineering to be coordinated. safety URS as specified is fully understood and tracked as per IPM schedule charts. Besides safety in execution activities, other critical actions related to FAT, PSSR, SAT, machinery Safety, Material Handling equipments, LOTO etc. and related activities for the preparation of ISO 45001 & 14001 requirements
  • Develop site SHE Management Plan starting from Request for proposal and dynamic management plan to be created as the site progresses and prepare the risk mitigation mile stones. Communicate timely to project management team and contractors. Ensure the plan includes effective risk management procedures for worker orientation & training, risk assessment, work method statements, lifting plans, permit to work, emergency planning and other project safety activities etc. Modify the Plan as required during the project to reflect changes in risks. Specially for the brownfield project wherein multiple simultaneous activities are required to be carried then SHE management plan must cater all risk emanating from simultaneous operation of an operational factory and the seamless integration of expansion of the browmfield activity.
  • Ensure the site is under control with secure access, safe access and egress routes, correct signage and with relevant risks effectively managed. Ensure high standards of health & hygiene conditions for workers, with appropriate implementation of heirarchy of controls and emergency medical response. Ensure all emergency response equipments like Ambulance Van are in place.
  • Ensure implementation of site risk management procedures. As the site progress, there will be very high number of high Hazard tasks to be carried at multiple locations. Ensure that specific safe working practices are in place with a focus on all high hazard tasks (e.g. work at height, critical lifting, hot work) & high frequency risks (e.g. slips, trips, falls, injuries from sharp points and edges).
  • Ensure training and coaching is provided to team members to develop their knowledge of risk management, legislation and operational duties. Provide personal coaching and support to the Site project Management Team. Develop training methodology and material for the Site Project team members basis their competency (Like Project Champion for Scaffold, Shuttering, Lifting, Excavation, height work etc.). Also coordinate with other stake holders for developing S&H TTT for the new operators.
  • Ensure project team receive trusted guidance & support on SHE matters. Identify and leverage expertise and good practices . Co-ordinate internal & external resources to deliver high quality and efficient SHE support, e.g. exposure monitoring, health promotion, health surveillance, training etc.
  • Ensure compliance is regularly audited and performance assessed, and the results used to drive further improvement. Promote effective communication of successes and learnings, and recognition for strong performers and contributors.
  • Engage with stakeholders (e.g. contractor representatives, local regulators, local communities,) on SHE topics to build positive relationships. Build safety culture by creating innovative ways of engaging the workforce to make personal contribution to safety.

The Successful Applicant

  • The ideal candidate must have 10-15 Years experience with a BE Safety background from a FMCG, EPC, Chemicals or Process Industry.
  • Must have knowledge on ISO 45000/ISO 18000/HIRA/HAZOP work methods and implementations.
  • Must have project safety experience.
  • Preference would be given to candidates from CLI, Mumbai
