BASIC FUNCTIONS: This position performs complex design and software development assignments within a software functional area or product line, and provides direct input to project plans, schedules, and methodology in the development of cross-functional software products. This position performs software design — typically across multiple systems; mentors more-junior members of the team; and talks to users/customers and translates their requests into solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience
  • BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required


TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • At least 5 years of software design and development experience
  • Solid Java and Python programming skills
  • Experience with Java frameworks: Spring, Hibernate, etc
  • Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, Postgres etc
  • Experience with AWS or other cloud/VM environments, Docker, Terraform
  • Experience with Agile, Continuous Integration, Microservices and Unit Testing
  • Following skills or experiences are plus: GIS, Performance Optimization, Automation Deployment Testing, Security
  • Strong knowledge in industry best practices in development
  • Strong knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)
  • Ability to interface competently with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements
  • Good oral and written communications skills
