Job description for the Position of Stretcher Operation Diploma Engineer LMS (Position not evaluated)

1-Online stretching of aluminum extrusion profile based on the product recipe . Sometime it is based on profile dimension

2-Material clearing from run-out table area if fell down.

3-sample cutting and Checking size of profiles before and after stretching by manual method and/or by automatic size checking machine and keep the history digitally.

4-Arrangement of the jigs based on the profile to be kept and used continuously.

5- LLF and upkeep of the equipment during the shift and point out the abnormality

6- Support the press operator during every die change/ process setup till first three billets.

7-Ensure quality parameter after press and coordinate with press operator and cutting operator along with press supervisor.
  • Ensure the Stretcher operation continuously as soon as material cools down during the shift.

  • Classification of Extrusion Processes - Conventional Direct Extrusion, Billet-on-Billet Extrusion, Indirect Extrusion
  • Process Variations
  • Combination of Casting and Conform Extrusion
  • Lead and Lag Indicators - Die Oven Temperatures, Billet Preheat, Exit temperature, Ram speed
  • Critical Alarms and Safety Interlocks
  • Extrusion Metallurgy - Tempers, Properties
  • Quench Systems (Spray, Standing Column, Air-mist, Air)
  • Puller & Sawing
  • Stretching
  • Identifying common quality issues and their reasons
