The CX Unity team provides you the opportunity to build large-scale distributed infrastructure for the cloud to support a suite of massive scale, integrated cloud services in a broadly distributed, multi-tenant cloud environment. The CX Unity team works on a range of leading edge technologies that enable our cloud services to operate at high scale in a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment. The team incorporates the ethos of software engineering and applies it large scale infrastructure and operations problems. As a senior engineer in the team, your primary goals are to create highly reliable and ultra-scalable software systems to manage the operations of our services. We have a strong culture of innovation, collaboration and team work inspired by the DevOps philosophy.

Responsibilities include working on software engineering tasks such as design and development of infrastructure software and components that increase our reliability, scalability and reduce operational overhead through automation. The ideal candidate is a proficient programmer who has large breadth of knowledge and experience including areas such as networking, internet protocols and Linux systems. Design and develop designs, architectures, standards, and methods for large-scale distributed systems. Facilitate service capacity planning and demand forecasting, software performance analysis, and system tuning.

Requirements

BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding or equivalent practical experience

Have at least 10 years of relevant work experience

Experience working with Linux operating systems, software configuration, networking, standard internet services, cloud computing patterns, technology security and compliance

Strong understanding of Linux/Unix commands

Experience automating tasks with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, etc.

Experience with development in programming languages, databases and big data stores, and container technologies.

Experience working with distributed and highly available systems managed using Kubernetes, Helm, and Terraform

Experience with tools like Ansible, Chef, Kibana and Grafana

Systematic problem-solving approach, strong communication skills, a sense of ownership and drive

Deep understanding of service metrics and alarms through the development of dashboards, service KPIs, alarm systems

Hadoop, CDAP and Big Data experience is desired

Knowledge of setting up and managing Hadoop clusters, tuning and maintenance

Experience with technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Redis, Elastic Search, Memcached, etc. is a plus

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead and Architect role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 10 years of software engineering or related experience.

You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
