Senior Sales Consultant, Java

Overview

Oracle Java SE is a strategic platform for almost all enterprise, state and local, and federal government agency customers. Therefore, they are all potential customers for our new Java SE Subscription product.

Java Sales is a worldwide organization within Oracle. We sell Java SE Subscriptions to enterprises and government organizations to ensure the secure and productive use of Java. Additionally, we are promoting and selling GraalVM Enterprise Edition, Oracle’s next-generation polyglot VM technology to run applications written in Java or other languages. GraalVM Enterprise Edition is now included with Java SE Subscription.

As a Java Senior Sales Consultant, you will support the Indian Java Customer Success Representative high volume team located in New Delhi and the Java field sales efforts for greater India.

Key Responsibilities:
Partner with the sales team, formulate and execute a sales strategy to increase adoption of Oracle Java SE Subscription.

Support Sales Reps and customers to analyze use cases for Java SE Subscription and help to define suitable licensing models and metrics

.

Educate customers on the value proposition of Oracle Java SE Subscription, and participate in technical as well as commercial discussions

.

Conduct training sessions and workshops to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using Oracle Java SE

.

Capture and share best practices within the Oracle Java SE solutions consultant community

.

Act as a technical liaison between customers and product teams and help evolve the Oracle Java SE platform

.

Collaborate with the sales and product teams to identify target accounts and use-cases for GraalVM Enterprise edition and present to relevant customers in the region.

Required skills and Experiences

5+ years customer-facing solutions consulting experience

.

Knowledge in Enterprise IT-architectures and relevant concepts like Application Servers, Desktop/Client, Virtualization, Containers, Operating Systems and Private/Public Cloud

.

Understanding of SW development and deployment processes as well as SW asset management.

Java development experience, a must. Experience with additional popular computer languages/platforms like Scala, JavaScript, Python, R and C/C++ a plus

.

Experience presenting to both large and small audiences (Executives, IT Management, and developers)

.

Experience communicating across internal and external organizations

.

Technical degree required, Master’s degree preferred.

Ability to travel, up to 30% of the time

Provides direction and specialist knowledge in applying the technology/application to client business. Facilitation of customer product/application understanding through presentations demonstrations and benchmarks; provision of support throughout the sell.

As a Senior Sales Consultant you will be responsible for providing presales technical / functional support to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction with minimal supervision. Acts as a technical resource for less experienced Sales Consultants. Develop and deliver high quality standard Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Present and articulate advanced product features and benefits, product future direction and overall Oracle solutions. Design, validate, and present Oracle software solutions to include advanced product concepts, future direction, and 3rd party complimentary products. Develop and manage reference sites through high quality technical, professional client relationships.

Job duties are varied and complex, needing independent judgment. May have project lead role. 5 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 5 years relevant computer applications or database/tools. Demonstrated proficiency in one multi-user operating system. Through knowledge of system and application design. Strong verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems with accounts in complex technical environments. Ability to travel as needed. BS degree or equivalent; advanced degree desirable.
