About Business Unit:
The Global Business Unit Cloud Services (GBUCS) provides Cloud-based Infrastructure and Platform services to allow the Oracle Global Business Units to offer Cloud offerings in the Health Sciences, Communications, Retail, Finance, Utilities, and Project Management vertical markets.

The Global Business Unit Cloud Services (GBUCS) Operations team is responsible for driving architecture innovation and enabling Oracle Global Business Unit (GBU) Cloud Offerings. GBUCS Operations bridge the gap between business and technology and combine a deep understanding of technology, applications, industry best practices, business processes and architectural patterns to develop Cloud solutions that meet the business objectives of the GBU’s and their customers.

Roles & Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will possess excellent systems management and interpersonal communication skills, have good troubleshooting and analyzing skills, and are responsible and responsive. The candidate must be expert on Oracle Enterprise Linux (RHEL base) Operating System and independent on Windows Operating Systems (2000/2003/2008/2012/2016/2019), database and Internet technologies, security and hosting facilities. The candidate must feel comfortable in fast-paced, team-based environment.

Responsible for the software development and administration activities within the environment. Monitor all system processes. Install, configure, and maintain file systems. Develop and maintain shell scripts and programs to support and simplify administration tasks for our mission critical processes. Design and secure troubleshooting system utilities and diagnostic equipment. Introduce remote management

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc. Manage multiple on-going concurrent projects.

A Coder – in any language preferably in Terraform, Chef, Ansible, or Shell.

Experience in Jira, ELK, Kibana, ELK, LogStash, etc.

Experience with writing PERL, Python, and Shell scripts.

Perform hardware/software installation, system configuration, and upgrades of high availability Oracle VM, VMware, Linux and Windows systems.

Create and update technical documentation (Knowledge Base, Work Instruction etc.).

Provide Systems escalation support to the Operations Center.

Follow Change Management and generic datacenter related policies and procedures.

Automate repetitive tasks on both Windows (using PowerShell, batch, and/or VBscript) and Linux servers (using Bash, Perl, and/or Python).

Analyze performance statistics (cpu, memory, disk I/O, network throughput/latency, etc.) and implement solutions to resolve issues should they occur.

Experience with Server Virtualization, TCP/IP, SMTP, SFTP, LDAP, Active Directory, IIS, ASP, HTML, PowerShell, VBScript, and DNS services.

Installation and operation of custom Internet and Intranet computing environments running Windows 2000 – Windows 2019.

Must be self-managed and self-motivated and able to work with minimum help.

Willing to take upon Level 1 to Level 4 tasks.

Provide mentoring and direction for junior engineers/admins.

Required Skills:
Essential Skills:
Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent combination of relevant experience.

4 or more years of experience managing large virtual environments (Oracle VM or Vmware)

5-8 years of work experience as a System Engineer in Linux and Windows environments

Strong experience with Virtual Infrastructure management - Oracle VM (preferred) or VMware

Ability to apply critical thinking/problem solving skills in order to resolve complex technical issues in a timely fashion

Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English)

Open to work in a 24/7 environment. Mandatory Weekend Shifts and Rotational Shifts.

Customer focused and team oriented

Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

Good to have Skills:
Demonstrable expertise in server/system management in a production environment.

Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing, to appropriate management.

First rate customer service skills are a MUST.

Exposure in heterogeneous environments (Windows/Linux)

Must be available to be on call 24x7 and work some evenings or weekends.

Excellent interpersonal, organizational and planning skills.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Familiarity with Oracle Utilities (SPL / Lodestar) products is a big plus

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
